Please call the school attendance line if your student will be absent at 331-228-2700. Please spell your students first and last name or their student id number when you leave a message. If you are emailing the teacher please also email nortoncreekdismissal@d303.org indicate students first and last name.
Remote Learning Information
Dear Families,
Between Monday, November 30 and Friday, December 18, students in all District 303 schools and programs will be learning in remote environments. Our staff members and administrators worked tirelessly over the summer and fall to enhance remote learning to ensure that students have access to positive, meaningful learning experiences. You will notice that remote learning is different from what your child may have experienced in the spring. We encourage parents to provide students with a consistent working environment where they have access to technology and other learning materials. If your child will be absent from a remote learning day, please email the teacher and call the school office prior to the start of the school day.
Below you will find information about expectations, schedules, and specials during remote learning.
Student, Family, and Teacher Expectations
Elementary school hours will be between 8:00 a.m. and 1:40 p.m. Students are expected to be available and ready to learn during those hours, whether the learning is synchronous or asynchronous
As with in-person learning, students are expected to complete assigned work by the deadlines set by the teachers
We ask that parents allow students to work independently or in collaboration with their teacher and classmates as much as possible
Teachers will provide a weekly schedule that provides synchronous and asynchronous learning times.
Specials and Lunch
Students in grades 1-5 will have a 30-minute daily special (art, music, physical education and LRC). The remote special schedule will be the same as the in-person schedule, with lessons being both synchronous and asynchronous. The special teacher will share the schedule with the students.
Kindergarten students will continue to access 15-30 minutes of asynchronous specials each day.
Students will have a 40-minute lunch break on the same schedule as they had during in-person learning. Student lunch times are based on grade level so your children may have different lunch times.

If you need IT support, technical assistance, device exchange, etc. please click on IT Direct Support.

As we head into Thanksgiving and then an adaptive pause for remote learning for all of our Eagles and student across D303, I want to share my gratitude with all of you. To all of our families, students, and staff, I thank you for your patience, flexibility, cooperation, collaboration, kindness, empathy, passion, and compassion. Salvation Army Donation Results Are In......
The Norton Creek Student Council collected money for the Salvation Army in order to provide a Thanksgiving meal for local neighbors who are hungry, homeless, unemployed, elderly, or who have simply run out of luck. Please see our results below for this year.
The first week we collected $1474.71
The second week we collected $1190.99
Combined Norton Creek raised $2665.70!!!

SELF CERTIFICATION FORM
Please certify each child online every morning prior to 7:30am by filling out out the online form. Please know that you do not need to print out the "PASS" it generates. Once certified online sign the luggage tag on the students backpack for that day. Students without online certification are checked and parents called before they can enter the building. Thank you very much for your cooperation and understanding.

REMOTE LEARNING is FUN! (it will be, we promise)
As you all have now heard, all students will start remote learning between November 30 - December 18th. As that does restrict us from certain activities in school, we will still be having an excellent time with our friends and teachers virtually. More communication will be sent surrounding our hunt for the Eagle so make sure you are PAYING attention to your teachers on calls!! Will you spot it? Spirit Wear will still be delivered to the school and we will coordinate with the families that ordered a safe and secure pick up or drop off. Enjoy these last few days of ‘in-person’ before we hunker down and stay safe!!

Policy Regarding if a Member of a Student's Household is symptomatic without diagnostic testing or clinical evaluation.
If an individual in a student's home is experiencing COVID like symptoms and has not received a COVID test or has not been evaluated by a health care provider then household members (any person living in the home e.g. siblings that attend any D303 school, parents) are to quarantine.
COVID-like symptoms include: Fever (100.4° F or higher), new onset of moderate to severe headache, shortness of breath, new cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain from an unknown cause, new congestion/runny nose, new loss of sense of taste or smell, nausea, fatigue from unknown cause, muscle or body aches. Medical Evaluation and Testing are Strongly Recommended for ALL persons with COVID-Like Symptoms.
Students will be able to return to school when:
- If a COVID test is completed for the family member and test results are negative, the students in the family may return to school.
- If the symptomatic family member is evaluated by his/her doctor and an alternative diagnosis is given to the family member, the students in the family may return to school.
- If no COVID testing or no evaluation by a healthcare provider of the symptomatic family member, the family member will need to stay home 10 calendar days from onset of symptoms and ALL children in the family will need to stay home 14 calendar days from the onset of symptoms.
- If the symptomatic family member tests positive for COVID-19, the symptomatic family will stay home for 10 calendar days and need a release from isolation letter from the health department. All children in the family will need to stay home for 14 days and will need a release from quarantine letter from their local health department.

Who is a close contact?
A close contact is anyone (with or without a face covering) who was within 6 feet of a confirmed case of COVID-19 (with or without a face covering), for at least 15 minutes throughout the course of a day. The period of close contact begins 2 calendar days before the onset of symptoms (for a symptomatic person)
or 2 calendar days before the positive sample was obtained (for an asymptomatic person). If the case was symptomatic (e.g., coughing, sneezing), persons with briefer periods of exposure may also be considered contacts. Close contacts to a confirmed case of COVID-19 are required to remain in quarantine at home for 14 calendar days starting from the last day of contact with the confirmed case.
