As the term draws to a close I reflect on some of the challenges we have faced over the last ten weeks. Winter illnesses, along with the ongoing Covid situation, have certainly been factors we have had to work around. I am, however, delighted that we have also managed many exciting activities over the term including Gymfun, The Warbirds Trip, Grip Leadership Day, Trees for Survival planting, Mathex, ECCS Netball Funday and Showquest.
Our PSG have worked tirelessly this term with their fundraising activities, including a very successful Movie Day last weekend. Thank you to all of our hard working parent supporters.
I am looking forward to more great learning opportunities next term and hope to see many of you at our student conferences in the first week back. A notice with details was sent home with student reports earlier this week. You will also find information on the school website.
Board Elections are next term. Please read the information later in this newsletter.
Some reminders: I would ask that you please try to have your children arrive at school before 9am. We have had many children arriving late on a regular basis and this is not only disruptive for the class but is unfair on your child to arrive after everyone else has settled to work. May I also remind you that student absences need to be communicated to the office, preferably via the school app, and not through your child's teacher. If your child's teacher is not in class the message will not be received and our system will generate a message to the parent asking why your child is not at school.
At the end of the school day please collect your children promptly as teachers often have meetings or professional development after school. If you arrange to collect your child from the playground or the field after school please be aware we are not able to supervise them. Our preference is for children to wait in the quad until they are picked up.
I would like to wish you all a safe and happy holiday and I will look forward to seeing you in Term Three.
East Counties Country Schools' Mathex
Although hampered by illness, our Year 7&8 A Team placed fourth.
A huge thank you to our very own Carol Paterson (Miss P) who organised this event.

A huge thank you to Coral Farkash who worked so hard with the student leaders in the early months of preparation and Alana Sangster who stepped into the role of Lead Teacher towards the end of our preparations.
