Ms. Romo's Report
Greetings! What a year! We appreciate everyone's support and flexibility this year. We are excited to kick-off summer school and begin planning for next school year. Enjoy the summer and stay tuned to School CNXT and the Goodrell website for information throughout the summer. Next year will bring high expectations and high supports!
Around the Building...
As we wrap up what was a crazy, difficult, and ultimately unforgettable 2020-2021 school year, the whole Goodrell staff wanted to say not a goodbye to all our wonderful students, but instead:
WE WILL MISS YOU!

Nurse Bo's Bulletin
Covid Vaccine: Students between the ages of 12-15 are now eligible for the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine, in addition to students 16-18 years of age. Appointments can be made with local pharmacies, Polk County Health Department, or with your Health Provider.
A reminder to incoming 7th Graders: As you start making summer plans, remember to schedule appointments for your Immunizations if you haven’t already received you Meningitis and Tdap shots. You will not be able to start 7th grade until the Nurse has gotten your immunization record that shows that you have received these immunizations.
I hope everyone will have a safe and enjoyable summer break. I will miss seeing this group of 8th graders next year. I look forward to seeing everyone else back next fall. – Nurse Bo
Mr. Power's Piece
The month of May saw all of our activities wrap up for the year, with soccer season coming to a close and all of our clubs ending for the school year. Thank you again to all of our coaches, club sponsors, staff, and students who made it possible for us to have activities this year! With many programs meeting in person in the last handful of months of the school year, we didn’t have any that were shut down due to Covid, and that was in large part to our students and staff making sure safety procedures were being followed. Hopefully our sports and clubs will be back to more of a “normal” status in the fall!
Speaking of the fall, here are some things to look for over the summer. We will be sending out communication via SchoolCNXT, Infinite Campus, and our website about programming that students can join in the summer and fall. Follow us on social media (@GoodrellDMPride on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) for information as well. We will also start selling Goodrell apparel again in July to get ready for back to school so be on the lookout for that. There are also some initial plans in the works for a back to school event in August so stay tuned for more details at a later time. Until then, have a great summer break and we look forward to seeing everyone in a couple of months!
