Principal's Message
Hello Springwater Community,
We will be wrapping up the first 6-weeks of the 2nd semester at the end of this week. As the days get longer and we see more sunshine, it is important to remember: we only have a little over 3 months left in the school year! Hang in there for these final months of the school year! Progress Report grades can be viewed online through Synergy StudentVue or ParentVue.
As a reminder: we offer after school support Mondays - Thursdays from 2:30pm-3:30pm. Students must sign up in the office by noon if they would like to catch a bus ride home. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to get help with their classes.
Spring can be a challenging time for consistent attendance and the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is adding an additional layer of stress and anxiety for students and families. Please take care of yourself and remember to wash your hands often (for at least 20 seconds). Frequent handwashing is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other viruses. See additional information about the virus in this edition of our Titan Times. Please remind your student we (and the district) expect students here every day -- consistent attendance is one of the best ways to ensure students remain on-track for graduation and maximize their learning.
Soccer season will begin right after Spring Break. If your student is interested in participating, please make sure they have a current physical on file. Contact the office or Ms. Kruse if you have questions.
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your student’s teachers, the main office, or me by phone or email if you have questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Ryan Blaszak

How is my student doing?
· The best place to check how your student is doing is Google Classroom. You can even download the Google Classroom app for your phone.
· I would recommend sitting down with your student and have them open up their Google Classroom account for you. The login is their school email and their student ID number is the password.
· Once you have signed into their account, select the class you want. Next, click the “Classwork” tab, and then click on the "View your work" icon.
· There you can see a list of all assignments, due dates, task scores and the current overall percentage for the class. You can also see if they turned it in on time or not.
How can my student improve their grade?
· One thing that helps students is be sure they "turn in" assignments by clicking the "Turn in" button in Google Classroom.
· Students should also be sure to turn assignments in, before the due date and time.

Springwater Attendance
If your son/daughter is going to be out for the day please call the office (503-261-4600) and let us know the reason why. Whenever the office is not notified of an absence, a call is made home via the automated calling system. If the student is going to be out more than three days, you can call the office or email your student's teachers with a request for homework. If your student is going to be out of school for extended period of time due to a vacation or some other event, please have him/her complete a Pre-arranged Absence Form.
