What a rainy week! We are so proud of our Dolphin students, staff, and families for persevering in spite of the weather. Thankfully, we have sunshine in the forecast!

This week is Kindness Week at Jones and we cannot wait to see and feel the extra positive energy shared across our campus. Student Council created a special Spirit Week and

our PTA will be selling Friendship Grams before and after school Monday - Wednesday! Check out the flyers below for all the details.

Lunar New Year also begins this week and exploring the history and traditions of this festive celebration is a wonderful learning opportunity for our community. As students share and learn about the holidays of different cultures, we build connections and raise awareness of the meaningful experiences of those in our community. While schools recognize Black History Month during February, we encourage your family to celebrate and discuss at home too. Books, music, art, and food are all wonderful ways to expose our students to different cultures and experiences. Check out these links for more ideas...

The Jog-A-Thon has historically been our PTA's biggest fundraiser of the year! All of the funds raised go directly back to our students in a variety of ways. We hope you can help support either by making a pledge/donation or sharing the info with others who may be able to contribute.

For the 2023-2024 School Year San Diego Unified School District has included the Jones Elementary community in their partnership with Hazel Health. Your child can receive telehealth doctor's appointments or therapy appointments at no cost to your family. Students can speak with a licensed medical provider or therapist from school or at home on a desktop, laptop, or mobile device. Details on how to register and begin utilizing the services are below.

Our Parent Teacher Association works with Jones Elementary to provide programs and support to benefit the students, their families, teachers, school administration and the community. Run entirely by volunteers, the PTA raises money to support enrichment programs, program instructors, educational assemblies and field trips, family events, and special classroom supplies.

As always, we need your membership, support and ability to volunteer. You can become a member using Totem, a respected membership management service. Please contact us with other thoughts on how we are doing, and your ideas on how you can become involved. We look forward to hearing from you.
