Creating a Learning Commons
Toward this end we have identified two areas for quiet work in the library: the glassed in former library office, and the east side of the library. The central and west sides of the library are designated for collaborative work. Further into fall, you can expect to see more flexible seating incorporated into these spaces to facilitate student choice.

Ch Ch Ch Changes...
- Our databases are now organized by purpose and include annotations to give you a snapshot of what each includes
- A new link under databases called "research pathfinders" will take you to a Google site with sources curated in response to teacher requests
- DVDs are now in two of the tall cabinets next to the CCC. These will remain unlocked for easy access.
- Our professional collection remains on the back wall of the quiet room, where you will also find yearbooks to 1974 and art slides.
Study Hall Procedures
Library Closed: Sept 4-7 for expectation setting within study halls. Details to follow.
Full period study halls: Please use the included library pass to send up to 6 students.Passes for underclassmen during lunch half-block study halls: Teachers may write pre-signed passes for individual students who have a specific need for library resources or collaborative time. Please indicate on the pass what the student will be working on.

- Week of September 17: Webster Public Library Connection- library card sign out and Libby/Sora app tutorial
- September 24: Mindful Mondays begin
- September 24-28: Celebrating Banned Books Week
Goals for 2018-19
- Incorporating more technology into the LMC, including the makerspace
- Providing monthly programming to keep students engaged
- Updating books that are outdated or in poor condition. Let us know your curriculum needs!
- Increasing access to text through promotion of audiobooks and ebooks
- Piloting LibGuides as a more visual research tool
