February Newsletter 2023
Choosing Books for Your Toddler
Your toddler still enjoys the simple books they played with as a baby. Your child will also start to like other kinds: lift-the-flap books, books that play music, or books with illustrations. They may or may not turn paper pages by themselves, but your toddler should no longer rip paper, so they are a good choice at this age.
Here are a few topics that will interest your toddler:
- Families, children, and familiar characters.
- Simple concepts like the alphabet, numbers, colors, and shapes.
- Predictable books with repeated words, phases, questions, or rhymes.
- Simple action stories about their day-to-day experiences.
- Descriptions of how things work or what workers do.
