Note from the Principal
Hello Elmwood Students and Families!
This was our final week for our Boo Run fundraiser! We are so proud and grateful for everyone's efforts and support for our PTO. We are looking forward to celebrating this Saturday, October 28th from 9-12 with our Trunk-or-Treat and Boo Run! 👻🍭🍬🎃
This coming week the PTO is promoting a spirit week to help continue the celebration! Please check out the flyer to see how you can be part of showing your Elmwood pride everyday this coming week.
On Monday, we will be celebrating all of our students who exemplified the character trait of RESPONSIBILITY! During this assembly the class who brought in the most "cash" for the Boo Run fundraiser will get to Silly String the principal 😁🤪
On Tuesday, October 31st our South Lake High School Band is coming to help lead our Halloween Parade. No Masks and No Weapons Allowed. Weather permitting, students will be walking around the block starting at 1:20 PM: California to Alice to Alger to Malvern to California. Parents are more than welcome to come see their kids walk outside.
Be on the look out for a Sign-up Genius for parent-teacher conferences! Teachers will be sending this out on Monday, October 30th by 5PM. Please make sure to sign up! Conferences will be held November 8th from 4-7PM and November 9th from 12:30-3:30 & 4-7 PM.
This year parent-teacher conferences will coincide with our fall Book Fair. We hope to see you there!
Lastly, the first quarter of the school year is coming to a close and Friday, November 3rd is a half-day with dismissal at 11:55 AM.
Warmly,
Mrs. Bowersox, Ed.S 💛💙

Getting to School
Drop Off and Pick Up Reminders
- We want to encourage our students and families to cross California and the surrounding streets safely. It is important to use the crosswalks and crossing guards available.
- It helps the flow of traffic if your child is ready to exit the car.
- Parents should stay in the car, to keep the drop-off line moving!
- There is NO Parking, dropping and/or stopping in front of the school on California. When this is done it prevents the busses from traveling safely and it causes quite a jam. There are signs up and police will ticket persons who are there.
- The front loop is ONLY for Busses.
- Parents may use the West Parking Lot/Loop to Stop and Drop their student(s).
- There is NO Left Turn out of the West Parking Lot/Loop.
- Parents may park on Malvern on the East side of school and/or on Alice on the West side of the school to walk their student to their entry door.
Lastly, please be mindful of school hours and do not drop off your children prior to 8:10. At 8:10 there should be a staff member outside to supervise them. 💛💙
Absences and/or Late Arrivals
If your child will be absent or late, please contact the office to let us know. You can either call the attendance line @ 586-435-1103 or email Mrs.Smith. When leaving a message, please state the child's name, teacher's name, date of absence and reason for absence (i.e. child is ill with fever, cough, etc.)
Be sure to order a Hot Lunch if they will be late and need a lunch. Orders must be in by 8:45 AM Thank you!!
