Report cards went out for K-8th. Kindergarten's report cards are in backpacks; 1st-8th guardians should have received a link to electronic report cards via email. If you did not receive a report card, check your spam folder, check that your email is correct in FACTS, or you may have had a financial hold on your FACTS accounts as of Thursday at 5pm. 2nd through 5th MAP scores also went home in backpacks.

After Easter, we will begin allowing parents/guardians to sign up to attend school masses in limited numbers. Because our school mass is closed to non-school related guests at this time, you MUST sign up on the sign up link by 5pm the day BEFORE the mass you want to attend. We will have someone checking off names and taking temperatures in the narthex before mass.

School mass guests MUST sit in the central back rows behind the students. If you would like your student to sit with you in the back, that is fine. Wait at the narthex door for the class to arrive, and let the teacher know your student is sitting with you.

Parents whose children have a part in the mass that day must also sign up using the slots marked “Reservation for class parents”. Your child must sit with the class. Parents who attend mass should stay and participate in the mass. Please follow all COVID-19 protocols.

Class BEGINS by 8:00am. This past week, on several mornings, more than a dozen cars pulled into the parking lot at or after 8:00am. Late arrivals delay the start of the school day, throw off schedules, and cut into instructional time. You should be arriving at carpool no later than 7:55am (at the bare minimum) in order to get through the line, get screened, and give your student time to reach their classroom and get settled. We will start counting students as tardy if you enter the line at 8am.

3-5 altar servers are needed for each of the following masses:

Holy Thursday - Feast of the Last Supper Mass: 7:00pm, arrive by 6:30pm

Good Friday - Passion of the Christ Service: 7:00pm, arrive by 6:30pm

Great Easter Vigil Mass - Saturday: 9:00pm, arrive by 8:30pm

Easter Sunday Mass - Sunday: 8:00am, 9:30am, 5:00pm

Mrs. Goldsworthy sent out a link in her March Newsletter to fill out a questionnaire regarding our school cafeteria. Please take the time to fill it out whether your student orders from the cafeteria or not. Our 3rd - 8th grade students will have the opportunity to fill out a similar survey during the school day as well.

This year’s St. Eugene Gala is going virtual! This event is our parish and school’s largest fundraising event! April 17th is just around the corner! Here are some ways to support and be involved with this year’s auction:

ATTEND: Invitations will be sent out soon. There will be an evite option so you can invite others to attend!

RAFFLE SALES: While we held onto last year’s raffle tickets, we still have more to sell! Students will bring home raffle tickets to sell! For every 10 tickets sold, their name goes into the pot for a drawing held right before the Gala. Top drawn name wins a Nintendo Switch, Top seller gets $100 cash and random drawn name for 3rs place gets $50 cash! The drawing will take place on April 17th, so all stubs, money and unsold tickets must be returned to the church/school office or classroom teacher by April 15th.

GRADE LEVEL BASKETS: Each grade level has a themed basket that is coordinated by the homeroom parent in coordination with the teachers. Parents can donate items, money and such to the basket to build a great auction item!

WINE: Donate bottles of wine for the wine pull. Please make sure the value of the wine is $25 or more! Bottles may be dropped off at the church office anytime during office hours.

AUCTION ITEMS: Do you have something that you can donate or know someone who can donate an item, event, or service to the auction? Please contact Heather McKinish (gala@steugenes.org or 405-642-4801) by March 25th. Examples are: Artworks, Cooking talents, donated items from businesses such as jewelry, furniture, gift cards, etc.

CCYO (Celtic Catholic Youth Organization) Cheerleading is a program for all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students (for the 2021-22 school year) that attend Catholic feeder schools. The cheer program will consist of cheering at 4 CCYO football games (fall of 2021) and attending a weekly practice after school hours. PLEASE PRE-REGISTER with Hannah Connelly and Ashley Wittrock at celticcheerokc@gmail.com. Include NAME, GRADE in the FALL SEMESTER, and SCHOOL. Mandatory parent meeting in APRIL - TBD.

Church camp is back! Sign up your student (entering 4th grade in fall 2021 through high school) to attend a week at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Camp this summer. Summer camp provides an opportunity for youth from around our state to come together and have fun through games, activities, and friendship. It also is a place for them to celebrate and deepen their faith. Registration is now open. New Eagle Siblings? Must Apply Now! If you have an upcoming Eagle that you would like to attend St. Eugene, you must begin an application. We have many applications rolling in and will begin to review applications and offer seats. We anticipate having waitlists for several grade levels, so don’t delay!

Enrollment for Returning CSSE Families Enrollment of returning students for the 2021-22 school year has begun. Families may login to FACTS to register their existing students. After February 12th, your currently enrolled child’s spot will not be guaranteed, so please complete registration soon. Families should also complete an application for any siblings in order to receive preference in the review process. We will begin reviewing new student applications this coming week. The registration fee for the coming school year will not be billed through FACTS until May of 2021

CHURCH OFFICE VOLUNTEER NEEDED. We are looking for some afternoon volunteers for Fridays. The shift is from 12:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and just involves answering phones and light office work. If interested please call 405-751-7115 or email manager@steugenes.org

Mass is still celebrated daily at St. Eugene, and with the exception of school mass, masses are open for all to come and participate while following COVID precautions. Weekend mass times are: Saturday: 5:00 pm (English), Sunday: 9:30 am, 5:00 pm (English), Noon (Spanish), 7:00 pm (Spanish). All public masses are streamed on the church’s Facebook. You may also stream via the church’s YouTube channel for weekend masses.

Please pray for the soul of Mrs. Lupp's cousin, Jeff Scales. He passed away last week following a long fight with COVID-19. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. | Please pray for Atticus and Silas Mullings’ grandmother, Tesse Mullings. She is starting chemo again due to the recurrence of her bone cancer. | Please pray for Mrs. Wilson’s father, Johnnie Spears, who is battling COVID-19 and complications with dialysis. | Pray for all those who have been affected by Covid-19, whether by sickness, loss of job, isolation, or loneliness, etc. May all find strength, comfort and healing in this difficult time. | Pray for our staff, students and their families. • My Child is Ill. What Do I Do? Allergies or COVID? Stomach bug or COVID? It can be hard to decipher what ailment might be affecting your child. We have created some graphics and flowcharts to help you navigate what steps to take when your child or someone in your household is feeling unwell. Please report concerns or questions about illness to Mrs. Goldsworthy at principal@steugeneschool.org, and she will consult with our response team - Mrs. O'Connell and Mrs. Rischard. ALWAYS fill out and submit the Absentee Form (or call Ms. Patrick in the office), then notify your child’s homeroom/house teacher each day of absence.

It is important to communicate why your child is missing school with the teacher and document through the Google form. Please be meticulous in following directions if a child, household member, or close contact has recently tested positive for COVID or is awaiting results of a COVID test.
