Are you ready for your Tustin Connect fix with Issue 26? I know you are. As we enter into these unprecedented times, we have a tremendous support network and will get through this together. Our teachers, district staff and myself are working to ensure that our students continue to be successful. We got this! TC is well-positioned to continue our instructional programs and keep your children on track. The situation is ever-evolving. Stay tuned for more to come. Mrs. McCourtney and her students start their morning with a check-in meeting to share what's good that has happened recently and what their goal is for the day. Dear Tustin Connect Students:

The State of California gave recommendations and guidelines for school districts. All school districts in Orange County are following these recommendations.

For now, we, unfortunately, have to cancel or postpone most extracurricular events for the month of March. At this time schools are remaining open pending our school board meeting on Monday, March 16. The regularly scheduled Spring Break is this week, March 16-20, and schools will, at this time, resume on March 23, 2020.

Currently, there is no plan to suspend any end-of-the-year activities such as senior activities, prom, and graduation. However, we will continue to follow recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and California Department of Public Health to contain this pandemic.

Please continue to follow all of the recommendations to stay healthy:

· Wash your hands

· Cover your cough

· Practice social distancing (not attend large events where you are exposed to new people)

Like you, we are looking forward to celebrating all the end-of-year activities with you and your families.

Survey This survey is to identify your intentions for your student's enrollment and placement for the 2020-2021 school year. If you have multiple students at Tustin Connect, please fill out the form for each student.

TUSD has worked closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Orange County Public Health, and health care providers across the state to stay updated and informed. We have added extra sanitizer and wipes to all classrooms as well as additional wipe down to furniture and knobs across our classrooms. The flyer below is a great outline for ways that we can all prevent the spread of the flu and COVID 19. Here are some additional resources as well if you'd like.

Student-friendly video overview of the COVID 19 or Corona Virus, guidelines for handwashing for K-2 and 3-6 students. As always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

For the past 8 years, the Tustin Public Schools Foundation has run a Summer Academy at Orchard Hills for the TUSD students and neighboring communities. It's an incredible opportunity for students to participate in high-interest classes taught by TUSD's finest teachers. It's an incredible program and our own Mr. David will be joining us this summer. Additionally, this is Mr. Fineberg's baby as he started the academy and continues to run it. For more information, check out the website at www.tpsf.net/summeracademy. Registration opens March 1st, but applications for interns (High School and College-age students) are available now!
