We Live the Word!
Friday, May 10, 2019
Dear Student, Families, & Friends,
On May 4, 2019, twelve 2nd grade and one 6th grade Father John V. Doyle School students, plus 3 parishioners, received their First Holy Communion! Family, faculty, and friends joined together to celebrate this special day. Preparations have been going on since the beginning of the school year. Students have studied and prayed together. They’ve worked with their teachers and spent time with their 8th grade buddies. These children learned how wonderful it is to become closer to Jesus!
As children from Father John V. Doyle School and Saints John & Paul Parish celebrate this sacrament for the very first time, we are reminded that this most precious gift is offered to us all - each and every time we come together at Mass. Please join me in praying for our students, that they continue to experience, with faith and love, the gift of our Lord Jesus in Holy Communion.
Mrs. Lauren Sheldon, their teacher, and I would like to thank Father Woolley, Father Fleming, Mrs. Ann Sartell, and Mrs. Pat Jarvis for all of their prayers and their time in making this day a meaningful and joyous celebration! We especially thank the parents of our students for not only being the first to introduce them to the love of Jesus, but also for sharing their children with us and entrusting them into our care at Father John V. Doyle School!
As always, Thank You for your support of Father John V. Doyle School!

A request from Nurse Patti...
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Happy Spring!
Please be sure that we have a working phone number on file with which to reach you! While we have most cell phone numbers, often there is no answer. We understand this, especially if you are at work or in a place that is not conducive to answering a cell phone! However, if your voice mail is not set up, or it's full, I cannot leave a message, and that can be very scary.
Also, as you know, we ask that you inform the office if your child is absent. When they are not here and we have not received a call, we need to know that your child is safe. If I have not received a call, I will try to reach you to confirm that your child is safe. Please be diligent about calling or emailing so we can account for our students.
Thank you very much for helping me to take good care of your children!
Regards,
Patti Cioe, RN

Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can I help? Send in as little or as many can tabs as you have to Mr. Godin’s Room
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up Father John V. Doyle School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation. We have already received one check for almost $50 with low key promotion. Now it’s time to “kick it up a notch.”
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
