Outdoor Recess
In Ohio, we know that the weather can change at a moment's notice! Please be sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the changing temperature. We go outside for recess any time that the wind chill is 20 degrees or above. Winter coats, hats, gloves, and boots are recommended. Please reach out to jacque.sparent@weschools.org if you need any help getting these items for your child.
Extra Clothing
Learning, eating, playing at recess, and using the restroom can be messy for students of all ages. Please keep a spare change of clothes in your student’s book bag!
Reminders from Our PTO
Sweetheart Dance Volunteers Needed
Valentine's Day Party Reminders
- Our classroom Valentine's Day Parties are coming up on Wednesday, 2/14!
- PTO covers all the food and drinks for the parties, which allows us to ensure that student allergies and dietary restrictions are taken into account.
- Please do not send in any candy or food items to the parties.
- When you are shopping for valentines for your child's class, please be sure that you are choosing cards that do not come with any candy or food items. Please choose just cards alone or if you would like to find ones that come with something extra- make sure they are non-food/candy items such as pencils, stickers, etc. We appreciate your help with this! Please contact your child's teacher with any questions.
- If you are in need of assistance with getting your child valentines to hand out to their class, please contact jacque.sparent@weschools.org and we can help.
- Many classrooms are still in need of volunteers for their parties. If you can help, please sign up below. These sign-ups are open to any one, even if you have volunteered for a party in the past.

Party with the Principals
In December we were focusing on the "D" in our PRIDE Promise which is "Dedicated". Students who exemplified this characteristic were invited to a Party with the Principals at the beginning of January. We had snacks, drinks, music, and games to recognize these students.
In January we were looking for students who showed "Excellence" to be invited to our next party when we return from break. Congratulations to the following students:
- Kindergarten: Paul West, Eli Mason, Emmett DeMilta, Jaxson Arabie, and Eddie Day
- 1st Grade: Gabriella Baroni, Anna Early, Grey Gucanac, and Lance Hambrick
- 2nd Grade: Nicholas King, Evan Veres, Sonja Haqqi, and Kendall Roberts
- 3rd Grade: Jaxon Wisen, Sydney Wolenski, and Violet Namestnik
- 4th Grade: Khloe Manzo, Kailey Stuart, and Lluc Dugonjic
- 5th Grade: Sofia Mahraz, Brooklyn Beemiller, Luka Medic, and Frankie Perkins
Attendance Matters
Please make every attempt to get your child to school on time as we are required to monitor students’ hours absent, due to House Bill 410. It is important for every student in Ohio to attend school every day. Missing too much school has long-term, negative effects on students, such as lower achievement and graduation rates. It is extremely important to always call our attendance line to let us know when they will be out. Providing a doctor's note when applicable is helpful as well. When students hit certain benchmarks of hours of school missed, you will receive a letter notifying you of this. Certain benchmarks require meetings and/or intervention plans to take place. The highest of benchmarks could require further actions and local resources to be involved. Click HERE for a link to more information regarding House Bill 410.
If you believe your child is experiencing challenges in terms of their mental well-being, it is important to reach out to your principal. To meet your child’s needs, it’s essential to collaborate with the principal and school personnel to explore resources and services available at school. In addition to Crossroads Counselors, the District also has family liaisons and guidance counselors who can provide needed interventions and support.
Crossroads Survey
Please complete this survey if your child has participated in Crossroads programming during the 2023-24 school year. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us understand the effectiveness of our mental health programs and identify areas for improvement. By participating in this survey, you contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the support services we provide to our students. Thank you!
