There is nothing to prepare for, we have been doing that from the time that students started school. Math Map Testing is Tuesday!
ACE 6/7: Students are using their proportional reasoning to examine the relationship between graphs, tables, equations, and situations as well as to solve percent problems and work with similar figures. They should be doing a couple CYU Classkick slides each night per the pacing on our grade level launchpad. Their unit 8 assessment will be coming up soon! Math Map Testing is Tuesday, 1/30!
ACE 7/8: Map testing will take place this week during the ACE 7/8 classes. We will also be starting Chapter 8 this week - Exponents and Functions.
ACE ELA: Students will be finishing up The Outsiders and finalizing their literary essay regarding theme. In the coming weeks, students will be joining others to form book clubs and will transition into argument writing.
ELA: Students are working hard to develop an essay in which they analyze how a common theme shows up in two short stories. This will be great practice for the Ohio State Test this spring! Looking ahead, students will soon be starting the Outsiders Unit, so please be on the lookout for an email from your ELA teacher reminding families to provide the Outsiders book for this unit. We have some extras if needed!
Science: In Science class we have been exploring the energy in a popsicle stick chain reaction, measuring the height of the rebound of different balls, and evaluating the potential, kinetic, and total energy in a skatepark. Check out your child’s Science notebook for continued progress!
Social Studies: Students are finishing up their unit on Mesopotamia. They will have an assessment regarding key information about Mesopotamia on Thursday, February 1st. Please make sure your student has headphones or earbuds for class.
