Teacher Appreciation Week: May 2nd-6th
The teachers of White Knoll Middle School are hardworking, persistent, caring, and willing to do whatever it takes to help each student succeed. During this week, consider expressing your appreciation to your teachers for all they do.
Here are some ideas to help you begin thinking and most of them are FREE:
- Make a card
- Write an email
- Write a letter
- Write a poem
- Create a piece of art
- Draw or color a picture
- Tell them what you appreciate about them
- Little Treats
- Be EXTRA, SUPER awesome in class
- Smile and say "Hello" or "Thank you for all you do" to each teacher you pass in the hall
Here's Another Way to Celebrate Your Teachers!
An important strength of our school is the partnership between community and schools. Today's challenges in education call for even stronger relationships. As schools support our communities, we would like to provide the opportunity for our community to support our school. Please take this opportunity to thank a White Knoll Middle educator or staff member for their hard work and remind them of the impact they have made on a child's life. Your words just might make this person's year!
Join us in sharing your appreciation by filling out the form here.

Children's Book Week is May 2 - 8.
Many teachers will be reading or talking about their favorite children's books in classes during this special week. We would like to challenge you to take a moment at home to discuss your favorite children's book and why. Did you like it because it was funny or because it had a good message? Was it the incredible illustrations you often find in these books? Or perhaps, you have a wonderful memory attached to when you read it or had it read to you? Whatever your reason for loving the book, share it with your family and open the discussion of the power of books.
May 4th - Wear your Star Wars Clothing
Our Nursing Staff is the Best!
May 12th is National School Nurse Day. Our nursing staff always does an incredible job, but this year, their work has been out of this world! COVID-19 was tough, but it could not beat our nurses. We are SO thankful for all the measures they take each and every day to help keep our students and staff safe and healthy. Take a moment on this day to say thank you in your own special way to our nurse, Ms. Linda Boatright, RN and Health Room Assistant, Ms. Sarah Hoover. They deserve to feel extra special because they are!
SC Ready & SC PASS Testing!
SC Ready & SCPass Testing is coming! Please try not to schedule any appointments on the following dates: May 5th and May 16 - 19. This will help reduce the number of make-up tests that will have to be administered and also keep your student from having to miss even more class to take the make-up assessment. We appreciate your help with this and look forward to seeing how amazing our War Hawk students do each day of these tests.
CONGRATULATIONS TO Mr. MCMANUS - REGION 5 BOYS' TENNIS COACH OF THE YEAR!
Track & Field Stars!
Track and Field came to an end with a final championship meet where athletes Londynn Guess, Divine Tailey, Jonathan Keith, Junior Tchapmou, and Travis Boyd were able to show off their hard work! Londynn and Jonathan, with the help of their teammates, both placed first in the 4x100 meter boy's and girl's relays. Londynn placed third in the 100-meter race. Divine was able to get a personal best and place 3rd in the 100-meter Hurdles. Junior placed 3rd in the 400-meter race. With their accomplishments, and their teammates, our girl's team placed 2nd and our boy's placed 3rd in our conference! By far our most successful season in recent years!
Don't forget to buy your yearbook!
Memorial Day - Monday, May 30, 2022
While you are enjoying your day off, take a moment to think about those that have given their ALL to serve our country. Many people have fought for the freedoms of our country and many have died in service to it. Let's not forget these brave men and women and honor them on this day and all days moving forward.
What about this summer?
