Falcon Flyer
Belong. Inspire. Grow.
Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families!
Get ready for an information tsunami in today’s Falcon Flyer! As I was reading through it surprised me that it’s time to register for spring sports. A little more sunshine would sure help to set the mood for spring sports!
Spring athletics offer a buffet of opportunities, even for the casual athlete. This could be the time to try a sport or event you may not have considered. How about tennis? How about throwing the javelin? You never know what you might enjoy doing. Encourage your student to consider an athletic activity this spring!
I’m really excited for our ASB officer elections coming up the next few weeks. I’m proud of the students who have courageously applied and aspire to be the voices on behalf of all the student body!
By now you’ve heard Superintendent Small is stepping down after this school year, so we’re on the search for a new superintendent. Parent input is important, if you didn’t participate in a forum or have a chance to provide your thoughts, you can do so through this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CENTRALVALLEY2022
We’re getting an itch to have some fun here this spring and are in the process of planning an epic celebration we are calling “VERDE LOCO!”. Stay tuned for more information on events and opportunities our students are starting to plan!
On behalf of the Ridgeline Staff, I’d like to thank you, our parents, for your support!
Make it a great weekend! --Mr. Hardt

Ridgeline HS band, orchestra and percussion students performed at the Northeast Music Educators Association’s Solo and Ensemble Regional
Ridgeline HS band, orchestra and percussion students performed at the Northeast Music Educators Association’s Solo and Ensemble Regional event last Saturday, January 29th at Cheney High School. Judges award superior, excellent and good ratings. Ridgeline music had 50 entries and we received 24 Superiors and 26 Excellent ratings! It was a really fine showcase of how much our students are growing here in their new nest.
At stake were bids for each category to the WIAA State Championships held at Central Washington University between April 29 – April 30. We had several students win their category and are heading to state!
Parker Troye, bassoon solo

Hannah Lind, timpani solo
We also had several students and groups (ensembles) qualify to state as alternates:

We are so proud of all of our amazing students who added more to their plate during FINAL week to pursue the BIG G; to grow in ways as leaders, musicians and Falcons! Not every inch of our program’s growth is measured in bids to State Championships or Superior ratings. We measure most of our success in smiles, hearts that reach out to others, and the guts it takes to step out and be bold or daring. And in the end, we trust nothing will succeed like success! Thank you to our amazing community of parents and teachers that support our musical students in all of their pursuits. #on2state, # ubuntu

February is National CTE Month
February is National CTE Month celebrating Career and Technical Education. We have great CTE teachers at Ridgeline who can help students develop 21st Century Employability Skills and prepare students for all types of future careers. Statistics show that 95% of students who take more than one CTE class graduate high school, which is 10% higher than the national average. Talk to your grade level counselor to find out what amazing CTE courses we offer our Falcon students! We have several terrific CTSO’s (Career Technical Student Organizations) for our students to join too! Talk to your CTE teachers about joining.
