Dear CSSE Families,
Catholic Schools Week is upon us! In honor of this special week, students and staff are invited to participate in dress up days and activities that help us celebrate the many parts of our school community that are integral to a complete Catholic education. Our 2nd grade SALT also invites all our students to participate in our service project to benefit Pivot. Keep reading the EE for more info!
Begin your CSW week by attending mass! Our St. Eugene Parish is a huge foundation to our school and with their generosity we continue to thrive! Please thank a neighbor at mass for supporting our school! Side note: I unfortunately will not be able to attend mass this weekend. I am on my last couple days of covid and strep. I am on the mend, but down until the end of Sunday. Prayers appreciated!
On February 1st, ClassTag will officially become a part of SchoolStatus Connect. When you log in, you’ll see a new logo and updated branding. Don’t worry, these changes will not impact your ability to access your account. Check out the full list of updates you can expect.
Faith Forward,
Mrs. Goldsworthy
Catholic Schools Week is Coming!
Sat 1/27 & Sun 1/28 - Attend mass at St. Eugene in uniform and join us for breakfast in Ross Hall after 9:30 am mass on Sunday.
Mon 1/29 - Volunteer appreciation! Please RSVP by Sunday evening if you plan to come to morning assembly for recognition, then stay for coffee and donuts after. We appreciate all the many volunteers who coach, plan our gala, work in the library, serve on PTO and SAC, etc! Our school is an amazing place thanks to your service!
Tues 1/30 - Enrichment Cluster and Elective Showcase - Your 2nd-8th grade students have been learning so much in their Enrichment Clusters and Electives! Please come to see what they have learned, created, and achieved during our Showcase on Tuesday evening from 5:00-6:30 pm. Park in the NORTH lot and enter the glass doors by the Music room. We will have presentations going on in the Meeting Rooms, music room, and hallways, and performances in the gym.
The middle school team will send out further info regarding Catholic Trivia Bowl and dress up options for 6th-8th.
Please make sure that for all dress up days students are following Free Dress Guidelines and doing their best to dress up in a meaningful way. Students may always opt to wear their normal uniform.
School Mass Collection
During COVID, we suspended our charitable collection during school mass. We will be resuming the passing of the collection basket at school mass this coming week! Please encourage your child to bring change or a couple of dollars as a way of practicing charity. Let them give their own money if they have it! This is a great opportunity to teach your child about budgeting and tithing since many of us now use Faith Direct instead of putting cash and envelopes directly in the basket. We are currently working with a SALT group to help determine the most fitting need and the announcement will be made in school mass!
Applications and Upcoming Re-Enrollment
We have been receiving applications for the 2024-25 school year, and many grade levels have waitlists for new students. If you have not yet applied for any siblings who are not currently enrolled, do so immediately to take advantage of priority review. For students who will be returning in the fall, the Re-Enrollment link will be sent at the end of January. Families are asked to keep an eye on their email for the link and make sure that all lunch and tuition accounts are brought current ahead of re-enrollment time.
If you purchased a gala ticket, please don't forget to set up your account in OneCause! This will make things go much more smoothly the day of the event. If you purchased a ticket or table on behalf of others, you will need to enter their email address in your ticket account and it will send them their ticket. If someone purchased your ticket or table, you will receive your ticket via email and you will follow the link that is provided to claim your ticket. Please reach out to gala@steugenes.org with any questions or concerns.
If you purchased a gala t-shirt, your shirt will be sent home with your child the week after the gala.
Be on the lookout on our school and gala social media pages for sneak peaks of some of the groovy items that will be up for auction! Can't wait to see you at the party of the year on February 3rd!
Raffle Update!
Violin Lessons!
Our Violin Enrichment Cluster has been such a success, that our instructor, Mr. Soltani, will continue group lessons at St. Eugene! If your current Violin Cluster student would like to continue group lessons after school at CSSE, please fill out this Violin Lesson form. If your student (2nd grade and up) is interested in beginning lessons, we are gauging interest for lessons! Please complete the violin form to indicate your interest!
SALT Day of Service
Our annual SALT Day of Service is approaching, and we need your help! If you would like to participate as a driver or chaperone on March 8th, please make certain you are currently Safe Environment certified. To drive students, you will need to be able to provide a copy of your Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance Coverage to the school office ahead of time. Teachers will be reaching out for help through ClassTag/SchoolStatus Connect as needed in the coming weeks.
Also, if you have a blue SALT shirt, now is a good time to locate it and see if it fits! The SALT team will be collecting gently used shirts to redistribute and sharing a form to place orders for new shirts and replacements soon!
