Pride & Spirit Night at UHS Basketball Game on Friday

The Urbandale Booster Club is sponsoring a Pride & Spirit Night at a home basketball game for each elementary school. This Friday, February 3rd, is Valerius and Karen Acres Pride & Spirit Night. Each student will receive a free ticket to attend. Tickets will be sent home Wednesday or Thursday. Must have ticket for your student to attend the game for free.

Riding the bus next year? Complete this brief Bus Request Form by January 31

To help prepare for the changes in bus transportation routes for the upcoming 2023–2024 school year, we are collecting transportation requests now. Your help will make for a smooth transition from the current bus routes to the new routes for next year. We are not asking for any fees to be paid for transportation at this time. UCSD will begin collecting fees for busing, books, and materials beginning July 3rd. An email will be sent to all families at that time alerting them that fees should be paid. Right now however, we are just collecting transportation requests. If you anticipate your family needing bus transportation for the 2023–2024 school year, please complete this Bus Request Form by January 31, 2023. (Note: Please check your email for more information specific to your family.)

Powerschool Parent Portal Accounts

In an effort to streamline communication between Urbandale School District and student parents and guardians, we are in the process of creating parent portal accounts in our student information system, Powerschool. Previously, only parents in grades 6-12 had access to the parent portal. We are expanding this access to the elementary level. You may receive an email notifying you that an account has been created. You will get more information about logging in and user names/passwords during conferences. You don’t need to do anything right now. This is part of our preparations to give you greater access to your student’s school information during the 2023-24 school year.

School Apps Available at Home

Students are able to access School Apps, like BookFlix or Dreambox, from home. Your student will need to sign into ClassLink. Click on the link below to access the ClassLink sign on page or you can also find this link under Quick Links on the UCSD Website.

Students can login using their QR code or manually entering their Username and Password. QR codes are used in grades K-2 and can be requested to be sent home by your student's teacher. If your student does not remember their username or password parents can reach out to the teacher or the main office for this information.

The Urbandale Community School District (UCSD) welcomes your preschool and/or kindergarten student(s)! We take great care in creating a culture of learning in our classrooms to help make the transition to preschool and kindergarten a positive experience for your child(ren) and family.
