LVHS Weekly Newsletter

Viking Family,

Each week this semester Ms. Kinslow and I have worked together to crank out a meaningful newsletter. As former English teachers, we talk about themes and pick the perfect pictures to illustrate our excitement about life at LVHS Obviously, this week’s theme should be about gratitude, as we have so much for which to be grateful!

My twin sister, Manda, (yes, Manda and Janda - lol!) is also invested in our weekly missives, so when she sees something that we should include or has an idea, she sends it our way. This week she saw a social media post from Kristen Duke, a parenting expert with great questions to ask this Thanksgiving besides “What are you thankful for this year?” Here are a few favorites:

• What is a comfort food that makes you happy? (maybe ask this one before Thursday)
• What is a new skill you have learned that you'd like to teach someone else?
• What is something you are looking forward to in the next week or two?
• What is something beautiful in nature that you are grateful for?
• What is something you saw someone else do that you’d like to try?
• What is something you use every day that you might take for granted?
• Who is someone that lives out their faith that you admire?

As we enjoy this time of reflection and rest, let us remember the importance of giving thanks—not just for the big milestones but for the everyday moments of joy, learning, and connection that make LVHS special.

On behalf of the entire staff, I wish you and your family a joyful and peaceful Thanksgiving. May this season bring you warmth, happiness, and a renewed sense of gratitude for all the blessings in our lives.

These words continue to ring true for me as a leader in Lago Vista ISD:

BASKETBALL SEASON IS FINALLY HERE!

Mr. Panter reported that Blake Meredith has officially become the student to pass his A.W.S. D 1.1 qualification in the shortest amount of time. Blake performed the vertical groove weld on Wednesday, Nov 20, during the 6th period. Blake's weldment passed both visual and destructive tests per the American Welding Society structural steel D1.1 Rev 2020 welding code. Blake has been tireless in his pursuit of this test, making the most of every moment in the welding lab to attain this achievement. Great effort Blake!
