Things are "Heating Up!"
Good Afternoon,
As the temperatures have dropped outside, we are heating up in school! We have hit the ground running in the second semester. After a few days of review to "thaw out" the paralysis of time away from school, our teachers and students are back in the groove.
We are in our 2nd assessment window for the DRC Beacon Assessment. The students will be taking the DRC Beacon Math & ELA assessment at some point this week or next week. We are also piloting the K-2 assessment, so our early childhood levels will get a chance to be assessed in Math & ELA at this time as well.
Father Wood spoke at 3V (Virtue, Vocation, & Vision) last week. He spoke on the topic of reverence. This was a treat for our middle school students. He broke it down, as he does so well, by using examples of our National Parks and brought the point back to the Church and the Mass. It was a powerful message. Father also went around last week with "The Three Kings" to each classroom. He blessed each classroom as we chalked "20+C+M+B+24" over each door. CMB stands for Christus Mansionem Benedicat (May Christ Bless this Home), and is also the initials of The Three Kings (Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar). We are blessed to have Father Wood as our pastor. Thank you, Father Wood!
We have the great privilege of having the Traveling International Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit on our campus next week! We get to experience the catalog of miracles compiled by modern day teen saint, gamer, and programmer Blessed Carlo Acutis. Our students will be able to go through the exhibit throughout the week, and the exhibit will also be open to the public on January 23rd, 24th, & 25th from 6:30pm - 8:00pm in the Activities Center. It will also be available for viewing after the Vigil Mass on Saturday, January 27th, and after all Masses on Sunday, January 28th. This is a family friendly exhibit where you can explore modern and historical miracles of the Eucharist. Please take advantage of this opportunity!
Tickets are going fast for our first annual Shrimp Boil, which will be held on Saturday, February 3rd! We hope that you will join us for a great evening of food, fellowship, and fundraising for our school!
