PRIDE Under Construction - Week #9 🚧
Greetings, STEAM Family!
Another week is in the books at SDE as we remain steadfast on our journey towards high achievement and success for all students. We would especially like to send a huge THANK YOU to the representatives of our Local School Governance Team for their attendance and participation in the Annual Charter Systems Foundation Training Session this past Monday (September 26th) at Dublin High School. From this session, we were able to review what it means to be a charter district, along with the many ways Dublin City Schools and other districts across the state of Georgia are using broad flexibility and innovative strategies to meet the diverse needs of our students. The next LSGT meeting for SDE will be held on Monday, October 31st at 4:30 pm, and parents/guardians are invited to attend!
As a reminder, this is our final week before we dismiss for the Fall Break for our students and staff (Friday, October 7th - Monday, October 10th). Tuesday, October 11th is a Staff Workday, and all students will return to the campus on Wednesday, October 12th. Please be sure to go ahead and make proper arrangements for your little ones during this time.
In DCS, we believe early and ongoing engagement by family and community is critical for success. Therefore, if you have not already done so, please be sure to secure a date/time for your Parent-Teacher Conference with your child's teacher(s) as soon as possible. You should receive detailed information from your child's teacher(s) regarding this process. In order to accommodate our parents' schedules and depending on your child's current academic and/or behavioral status, we have allowed for multiple meeting formats in order to reach our goal of 100% parent/guardian participation. Your child's teacher will communicate with you the suggested meeting format in order to ensure a timely and productive meeting concerning your child.

Lifetouch Fall Pictures Day - THIS WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 5th
This Week at SDE:
ATTENDANCE MATTERS - Parents, please make sure your child maintains regular attendance and arrives to school in a timely manner. Students are tardy at 8:15 am. Five (5) tardies and/or early dismissals count as one (1) unexcused absence. Student attendance will be a part of criteria used to determine eligibility for school-wide celebrations. Remember, every minute really counts!
- Weekly grade level newsletters will be sent home each Monday, so please check your child's folder and/or book bag.
- The dress code will be enforced DAILY at SDE! Any "Dress Down" days will be communicated in advance. Repeated dress code violations will result in students becoming ineligible to participate in school-wide and/or classroom PRIDE celebrations and events! Please make sure your child adheres to the required dress code. Remember, the P in PRIDE stands for "Personal Responsibility".
- The PRIDE Afterschool Remediation/Enrichment Program takes place on Mondays - Wednesdays from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm. Snacks and transportation will be provided. For more information regarding the after school program waiting list, please contact the school at (478) 353-8250.
