SCHOOL CALENDAR UPDATE!
The Lowell School Committee voted at this week's meeting to cancel school on Tuesday March 5. It is the Presidential Primary Election Day and several of our schools are polling locations.
Upcoming Events
District Science Fair
On Tuesday, February 13th, students in Ms. Ashley's class will be participating in the District Science Fair. We are very excited for this opportunity. This will be our first time participating in a district event.
Special Award
The district asked each school to nominate a student that demonstrates school spirit. Congrats to our nominee...Layla! She is a hard worker, caring of others and always excited to participate in all school events. Her smile and enthusiasm is contagious! Keep up the good work!
Curriculum Corner:
Ms. Kelly's Class
Students in Ms. Kelly's class working on building CVC words during ELA time using a variety of hands on methods such as letter blocks, velcro hearts and writing. In math students worked on counting patterns and number recognition.
Ms. Allison's Class:
Students in Ms. Allison's class working on their ELA and math skills through the use of hands on manipulatives and an online learning platform.
Speech Group in Ms. Becca's Class
Students in Ms. Becca's class worked with one of our Speech Pathologists, Ms. Greta, to create a valentine's craft.
Library with Ms. Karen
This week during library students completed activities related to the story Bear Sees Colors by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman. Students also participated in a number of hands on activities focusing on the core vocabulary words of the month "I" and "you".
Ms. Amy's Class
Students in Ms. Amy's class getting their bodies moving to the music and ready for gym class. They love to exercise and dance to the videos from Go Noodle.
Art Class

Fun Around the Program
Staff Training: Stress Management, Nutrition and Wellness
Yesterday the staff participated in a wellness training with Sherri Sarrouf, the owner of SLS Fitness and Dragonfly Cafe. The training focused on stress management and health and wellness tips/strategies. Thank you Sherri for taking the time to meet with us!
