BOYS' SOCCER
Boys Soccer continues their hot streak as they have won four games in a row. Last Wednesday the Eagles traveled to Vineland to take on the Fighting Clan in a key divisional matchup. The Eagles rolled to victory with a 5 nil shutout. Leading the way was Senior Captain Nathan Biersbach with two goals, Gilmer Mendoza and Ryan Bailey each netted a goal and Joey Velardi sealed the deal with a highlight reel volley from distance. Kevin Le kept a clean sheet in net, his first career victory.
Last Thursday the Eagles hosted a talented Timber Creek squad in a big non-conference matchup. Again, the Eagles were victorious with a result of 3-1. This day Gilmer Mendoza led the Eagles with two goals and Senior Captain Lucas Lainez netted his first career goal. Brett Barnes played stellar in net with the victory.
This past Monday boys soccer hosted the Thunderbolts of Millville in a critical Group IV and Divisional matchup. The Eagles dominated possession and had control of the game from the beginning. A frustrated Millville team found themselves down two players, finishing the game with only 9 players on the pitch. EHT took advantage of Millville's sadness and refused to let them gain any momentum. Senior Gilmer Mendoza and Junior Ryan Evenson scored a goal each and Brett Barnes had the shutout victory in goal.
On Wednesday the Eagles traveled to local rival ACIT in yet another crucial divisional game. The Eagles took an early lead and never looked back. A complete and stellar team effort, the Eagles prevailed with a dominating 6-1 thumping. Seniors Nathan Biersbach and Gilmer Mendoza each tallied 2 goals a piece, while Jude Urban and Joey Velardi each scored one. Goalie Brett Barnes was solid yet again in net for the victory.
The Eagles host Lenape on Pride Day 9/24 @ 10am.
