February 19, 2024
Dear Alice Vail Middle School Families,
I hope you all are enjoying a fantastic February so far! We have some exciting updates and important reminders to share with you all.
1. Soccer Season Finale: Our last regular season games for boys and girls soccer are scheduled for Monday, February 19th @ 4:30 PM against Doolen at AVMS! We invite you all to come out and support our teams. Let's cheer our Falcons on to victory!
2. Future Falcon/High School Night: Mark your calendars for Tuesday, February 20th, 5:30-7:30! Alice Vail will be hosting our Future Falcon/High School Night. We'll be welcoming many of our incoming 6th grade future Falcons and assisting our current 8th grade Falcons in finding the perfect fit for their high school experience. It's an exciting opportunity to learn and explore together! There will also be food trucks on site starting @ 5:00 PM
3. Reminder: Rodeo Break is this week: Please remember that we do not have school on Thursday, February 22nd, and Friday, February 23rd, for Rodeo Break. We hope you can use these two days to enjoy the Tucson Rodeo or spend some extra time with your loved ones. Rest, relax, and rejuvenate!
4. 3rd Benchmarks: Our 3rd benchmarks are right around the corner! ELA benchmarks will begin on Tuesday, February 27th, followed by Math benchmarks on Thursday, February 29th. Let's continue to showcase the amazing growth and progress we've made this year, Falcons! We believe in you!
Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in our school community. Together, we make Alice Vail a wonderful place to learn and grow. If you have any questions or need further information, please don't hesitate to reach out.
We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events and celebrating our successes together!
With Falcon Pride,

Attendance Matters
Make school attendance a priority
• Talk about the importance of showing up to school every day.
• Help your children maintain daily routines, such as finishing homework and getting a good night’s sleep.
• Try not to schedule dental and non-urgent related medical appointments during the school day.
• Keep your student healthy.
• If your children must stay home because they are sick, make sure they have asked teachers for resources and materials to make up for the missed learning time in the classroom.
