Superintendent's Update

Bringing in October with Excitement
Dear Families,
As we begin the month of October, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the past couple of weeks and share some exciting updates from our school district.
First and foremost, I am pleased to report that the start of the school year has been a tremendous success. The open houses were a great opportunity for families to connect with teachers and staff, and I've heard positive feedback from many of you about these events. Your engagement and support make a significant difference in our students' education, and we truly appreciate it.
I'd also like to highlight the success of our "Girls in STEM" initiative for middle school students. This program aims to inspire and empower young women to pursue their interests in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The feedback from students and parents has been incredibly positive, and we are excited to see our young scholars excel in STEM-related fields.
Furthermore, our recent college and career fair was a resounding success. It provided valuable opportunities for our high school students to explore their post-secondary options and connect with representatives from colleges, universities, and various career paths. We are committed to helping our students achieve their academic and career goals, and events like these are an integral part of that commitment.
Lastly, I'm thrilled to announce that Homecoming season for our high schools has officially begun. This is a time for our entire community to come together and celebrate our school spirit and pride. I encourage all families to join in the festivities and support our students during this exciting time.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. I look forward to the continued success and growth of our students throughout the school year.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey A. Lawson, Ed.D.

In conjunction with Battelle and Cecil College, Cecil County Public Schools held the Girls in STEM event this past weekend.
Girls in STEM is designed to inspire, educate, and attract girls to pursue Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) careers. All sessions were presented in a fun and interactive way that sparked interest in the girls pursuing STEM careers.
