A message from our principal.............................
Hello Neptune Seahawks.
I want to tell each and every one of the students how proud I am for the great start of the school year and how impressed I am with all of the great things you are doing both in the classroom and in your extracurricular activities. A reminder that failure is not an option at Neptune Middle School. Whether it's staying focused in class, doing your homework, studying for exams, or making sure you are at school each and every day, these habits will make you successful for the remainder of the school year. We are champions at Neptune by being H.A.W.K.S., having great Habits, Attitude, Work Ethic, and Kindness, and we Strive for excellence each and every day. Have a great year and GO SEAHAWKS!

Out of Field Teachers
All Educators in Florida are monitored to ensure they meet certification and training requirements as mandated by law. Florida Statute 1012.42 requires that parents are notified when their students are assigned to an out-of-field teacher. The Department of Education acknowledges that some subjects are difficult to fill and that there are shortages of teachers in certain fields. Employing out-of-field teachers allows schools to meet the curricular needs of all our students.

Lovegrove’s Literacy Tips...........................
1. Make reading a family activity! Spend 20 minutes as a family either reading something together or individually. Showing your children that reading is something you value and enjoy can help encourage them to make it a part of their lives.
2. Create a print-rich environment. Having a variety of reading materials helps create multiple opportunities for your child to read. This can include novels, magazines, graphic novels, or even comic books. These are all great options to get kids interested in reading.
3. Listen to audiobooks in the car. Recent studies have shown that listening to audiobooks can increase overall reading comprehension. Listen to the audiobooks and discuss pertinent events and character interactions with your child to help them recognize patterns across genres.
4. Turn on subtitles. Television is a part of our daily lives. Turn on subtitles so students can hear the words associated with the written text.
