ESC-20 Special Education News
September 2020
ESC-20 Special Education Support Services is here to provide resources and professional development to help educators as they serve students with disabilities in-person or online.
For students who are deaf or hard of hearing or for any students who use lip-reading as a way to access communication, consider using a mask with a window or a clear face shield with teachers, staff, and peers. Also, consider the effects of wearing face coverings to the auditory signal. The pictures below show examples of face coverings that provide access to both visual and auditory signals. Click here to read more from a study looking at the effects of face coverings on auditory signals.
