The week of October 16th through October 20th is designated as "School Violence Awareness Week" by the State of NJ and NJ Department of Education (N.J.S.A. 18A:36-5.1). All school districts in the State observe this week to promote activities that prevent school violence and provide opportunities for discussion about conflict resolution strategies, peer mediation, and bullying prevention. We will recognize the week on SBTV, discussions in the classroom, and with some schoolwide activities.

Themes for the week are as follows:

Monday, October 16th: Our schools are safer because of our School Resource Officers. Say Thank you to Officer West and Officer Smith.

Wednesday, October 18th: School Bus Safety Day - Wear Yellow Day.

Friday, October 20th: Stonybrook Unites against School Violence - Wear your Kinnelon Colts clothing!

We are excited to announce that our students at Stonybrook Elementary are invited to participate in the Continental Math League (CML) this year. The CML is a challenging and enriching mathematical competition that will provide our elementary students with an opportunity to showcase their mathematical talents. Please see the letter below with the sign-up sheet. If interested, please have your child return the signed form to their teacher. Thank you.
