Dear Talley Families,
The 23-24 Georgia Parent Survey is now open. The Georgia Parent Survey was developed to measure parent perceptions of school climate at our school. Your opinion is very important to us. Your survey responses are confidential and will be combined with the survey responses of other parents at Talley Street to identify areas in need of improvement. It should only take ten or fifteen minutes to complete the survey. Each school must have a 75% participation rate on the Survey. Failure to meet the 75% participation rate on these surveys will result in the school receiving a 0.00 score, which will significantly reduce our school's Climate Star Rating. I would greatly appreciate your time in completing this. The link to the survey is below.

Notice: Payments Made Showing on Infinite Campus
If you have already paid at the school for field trips or others that you were receipted for since August, please disregard the fee charge that shows up on Infinite Campus.
Our District Finance office has been provided all records of deposits/payments for Talley for all Students. All previously made payments will be applied to the student's accounts.
Unfortunately, this process will not happen overnight as there have been many payments made since August, and we ask for your patience.
You are able to make online payments for the following items only at Talley:
3rd Grade Field Trips, 4th Grade Field Trips, 5th Grade Field Trips, Band Fees, Talley Orchestra, and Tybee Island.

Talley Rally: All Talley Rally dates as they stand currently can be found on the school calendar.
School-Wide Service Project
Talley is putting together dignity boxes for people in need. Each house is encouraged to bring in the following items by December 13:
- Altruismo: Shampoo, conditioner
- Amistad: Body wash, soap
- Isibindi: Toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash
- Nukumori: Hand sanitizer, cleansing wipes
- Onraka: Lotion, deodorant
- Reveur: Socks, gallon ziplock bags
The house with the most items donated will win 50 house points! For more information, see this presentation.
Food for Talley Families in Need at Thanksgiving
For more than 15 years Decatur Cooperative Ministry has been providing food baskets to families in DeKalb County at Thanksgiving. Again, this holiday we have the opportunity to serve those in our community who need it most. Decatur Cooperative Ministry will be distributing food for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. If you would like to receive everything you will need for Thanksgiving plus a $25 Kroger gift card, contact Cliff Richards at cliff@decaturcooperativeministry.org. Super Saturdays
Is your child interested in STEAM? Sign them up for Super Saturday today! CSD teachers & staff will guide K-5 students through STEAM inspired lessons at no charge to families. The time is from 9a - 12p at Beacon Hill Middle School.

Reminder!! City Schools of Decatur's upcoming Early Release Day is Wednesday, November 29.
Pre-K - 12:15 PM
Lower Elementary - 12:50 PM
Upper Elementary - 12:15 PM
Middle School - 1:45 PM
High School - 1:35 PM
College Heights' infant through preschool program will remain on its normal schedule.
The remaining schedule of Early Release Days includes the following dates:

Schools will communicate more specific details related to the schedule for the day, dismissal, and extracurricular activities.
Calendar Input Survey
CSD is currently soliciting stakeholder input for the 2025-2026 academic calendar. Your feedback is important and appreciated. To access the survey, please click on the link: https://tinyurl.com/CSDCalendar25-26. The survey will remain open through November 30, 2023.
IEP 101 for Parents
The CSD Special Education team will give an in depth look at key sections of the IEP document. The Special Education team members will give clear examples to help families with understanding the IEP. This is a great way for families new to this process to learn about the IEP or for families who may need more clarity.
Our special education staff members look forward to connecting with you and guiding parents through the document.
