Rocky's Review

A Note From Mrs. V.
Hello Forest Families,
Wow! The Forest staff was truly spoiled this week. Each day we had something special to look forward to. We want to thank our PTA & all our Forest families for such an incredible week.
We are wishing our 4th and 5th grade Math Pentathalon Team good luck this weekend. They will be competing Saturday at Stoney Creek High School in Rochester. Have fun Forest Rock Stars!
I have been made aware that next week Monday through Wednesday, paving will begin on Oak Valley. We are asking for everyone to be patient during drop-off and pick-up. Also, please DO NOT PARK on the corners of the streets leading off of Old Timber.
Thank you again to all of our families for making this week so special. And a very HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to our special Forest moms!
Have a fabulous Forest Weekend!

Parent Input for the 23-24 School Year
It is time for us to start planning ahead for the next school year. At the end of May, the staff at Forest will begin the important process of compiling individual student data in preparation for the 2023-2024 class placement for each and every Forest student. As your child's primary educators, we take this responsibility very seriously. The final design and make-up of each classroom involves many hours of careful review and thoughtful discussions between your child's current teacher, building specialists and me. We consider academic, social and emotional data to create the design of each classroom. Such factors include the:
- Balance of academic performances
- Balance of behaviors
- Balance of gender
- Balance of cultures
- Balance of special needs
Our goal is to ensure that every Forest student is placed in a positive learning environment where he/she will function to the best of his/her abilities during the 2023-2024 school year. It is your child's current teacher who is in the best position to understand and evaluate your child's personal learning style, peer interactions and individualized classroom needs.
Therefore, we ask that you respect our policy of not accepting verbal or written requests for specific teacher and/or friends.
However, if you do have any specific information in terms of learning style, learning environment, specifics of your child's personality and/or a preferred separation that you feel are important for us to take into account, I invite you to contact me in writing, via email, no later than May 26th, as we begin placement the following week.
If your child will not attend Forest Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year, please email Mrs. Laura Konfara at laura.konfara@fpsk12.net
Dress Code Reminder
As the warmer weather arrives, we have had questions about what students may or may not wear to school. Our FPS Positive Culture Handbook (pgs 49-50) is linked here for your reference.
4th Grade Mini Society
Our 4th grade entrepreneurs were busy selling their products this morning in the cafeteria. There was a wide variety of items for sale. What a creative group!
Calling All Forest Volunteers
WE WANT YOUR PLASTIC TRASH!
Join your local Cub scout Pack 389 in collecting as much plastic trash as you can through the end of the school year! Recycle your household bags & wrap into Trex’s Earth-friendly composite decking and railing. Bring in produce bags, newspaper sleeves, store bags, dry cleaning bags, Ziploc & other reclosable bags, cereal box liners, plastic ecommerce mailers, case overwrap, bread bags and ice bags. We will measure the amount of plastic every week and upload onto the Trex tracking page so that we can try to collect 500 lbs. If we can collect 500lbs, NexTrex will donate a bench to Forest Elementary. We have collected 267 lbs since we began in April!!! Don't stop now!!! Drop off your clean and DRY plastics into the box in the lobby and bring in as much as possible everyday.
