SCHOOL NEWS
Coming Soon!
Montgomery Elementary will soon be implementing a system to enhance our security and allow us to manage our visitors more effectively. We will be using "Lobby Guard" which will require all visitors planning to enter Montgomery Elementary to have and produce identification. If visitors do not have an ID, they will not be given access to the school. We will provide more information as we get closer to the implementation date.
Collection for Black History Month
Montgomery Elementary, along with the other elementary schools in the district, will be working in collaboration with Sycamore High School's "Young Scholars" group on a project they are doing for Black History Month this month. They are collecting toiletries to donate to The Boys and Girls Club and we will be specifically collecting shampoo and hair conditioner. There will be a bin placed in our lobby by the pig for those collections until February 23rd. Please send in your donations for this worthy cause!

PTO NEWS & NOTES
CARNIVAL
Many thanks to all of the Montgomery Elementary Families who contributed to the great success of our Super-Carnival last Friday! Thanks to those of you who baked, those of you who sponsored games, those of you who donated items for the Basket Raffle, Cake Walk, or Silent Auction, and to those of you who worked a shift (or more!). And a special thanks to the 22 person Carnival Committee who not only put in a marathon day on Friday, but put in countless hours organizing, preparing, and planning for the big night! It is through everyone’s efforts that we raised significant funds to support Montgomery Elementary and created a special and very fun night for all of the students and families.

Sycamore Aves hockey is undergoing an incredibly positive culture change.
Tonight is Senior night. In between the 1st and 2nd period, we are planning to take 10 minutes and have Sycamore youth that skate come out and take the ice for 10 minutes of hockey action. The pep band, several students from the high school, and lots of fun will be had for all. Heard they are going to throw a squid on the ice!
Think it would be great if we could get some young Aves to join the ice tonight. No goalies, no lift, no checking – just elbow pads, helmet, stick, skates and a jersey. Our twins and other little guys are taking the ice along with other youth Aves up to 8th grade.
It’s late but it’s Friday…..8:45 pm game for Senior introductions. Game starts at 9 pm. So taking ice at about 9:20 pm.
Go Aves!
