I am thrilled to announce the exciting news that Parley’s Park Elementary School is included in the 2024 Best Elementary School rankings by U.S. News & World Report! Parley’s Park Elementary School was ranked among the top 12% of elementary schools in the state of Utah. A U.S. News & World Report 2024 Best Elementary School badge will be added to our school's website shortly. I am so proud of the work my staff is engaged in each and every day and appreciate the partnership we have with our parent community. As we all know, much of our students' success is immeasurable and seen in a variety of ways. Receiving this recognition is one measure of success that during this season of thanksgiving we are so grateful to share. Please join me in congratulating and celebrating our Parley's Park school community for a job well done!

Ms. Karin from Bobby Lawrence visited Ms. Deckard's second grade class to do a presentation. She spoke with the students about respect, curiosity, self-control, and common sense.

This third grade student has been learning measuring and following directions in the classroom. At home, he helps his mom make guacamole and learns more math skills at the same time!

Please be reminded that the Wednesday (11/22/23) before Thanksgiving is a non-school day. Parley's Park will be closed from 11/22/23 through 11/24/23, with school resuming on Monday 11/27/23.

Miss Melissa had her First Nation friends, Jacqueline and Jason Hoof, come teach all the 3rd graders about culture, customs, stories, and dances from the Black Foot Tribe! It was an awesome experience!

Turkeys / Pavos
Ms. Kelly's kindergarten students made turkeys in disguise to hide from being eaten on Thanksgiving. Everyone worked on their turkey with their families. In class, we all made guesses for the disguises and who made them. Next week, the students will write sentences about our turkeys in disguise!

Please be reminded as we head into the winter months and inevitable snowy weather, students without snow pants will not be permitted on the sledding hill or in the soccer field when deep snow is present.

Ms. Heidi will be teaching the following skills during classroom Life Skills lessons throughout November:
PreK: students will learn about composure and belly breathing.
K-2nd: students will learn different ways to be helpful toward and supportive of their classmates.
3rd: students will be learning about loyalty and being trustworthy from John Wooden's Pyramid of Success.
4th: students will learn about fitness; nutrition, positive thoughts, and adequate rest from John Wooden's Pyramid of Success.
5th: students will be learning about the harmfulness of smoking as part of USBE's required Botvin Life Skills Training.
