Counselor's Corner: Xello lessons in the classroom
This past month Mrs. Fitzgerald, our school counselor, visited classrooms to teach and engage students using our college and career readiness program called Xello. Since October, students have been exposed to new tips, tricks and features of the Xello platform via monthly classroom lessons. Throughout the progression of the lessons from grade 6 through grade 8, students will explore career and college opportunities that align with their interests, learning styles, and skillset.
Here's what students have been up to this month:
6th grade: Students investigated entry level responsibilities or core tasks for a career they favorited and identified which subject area(s) that core task utilizes.
7th grade: Students continued the discussion and analysis of career biases and explored some learning pathways post middle school.
8th grade: Students were asked to identify the skills they possess and think about how those skills or assets could transfer to a career path of their choice.
