TE Bell Schedule

7:40 am 8:05 is arrival. Students can enter the building. Breakfast available.

8:05 am Tardy. All students should be in class and ready to start their day.

3:05 pm Dismissal. Students will be dismissed by bus, car or walker.

Event Information

Halloween Parade

Parents will check in the office when they arrive.

Classroom parties will immediately follow the parade. Room parents, please notify the classroom teacher if you plan to attend the classroom party.

From the Principal:

The last day to check out chocolate bars is Wednesday, November 1st.
All chocolate bar and trash bag money must be turned in by Friday, November 3rd to be eligible for prizes.
We STRONGLY encourage parents who are planning to attend the Halloween Parade or are a room parent for Halloween parties to make sure and notify your classroom teacher in advance. We will preprint visitor passes for those families and they will not have to wait in line. Make sure to check in the office during conferences to make sure we have your ID on file!
Each grade level has "End of the Year" goals to achieve. Students will be working on these goals throughout the school year and when they reach their goals, we will recognize them on video announcements. Help your child reach their grade level goals by practicing math facts and reading each night for homework!

SCHOOLOGY

Schoology is the LMS that all Turner schools, students, teachers and families will use to communicate about academics, celebrations, assignments, etc. If you have not signed up yet, please reach out to your child's teacher and they will give you their Schoology information.

School Visitors

Visitors

All exterior doors at Turner Elementary are locked when students are in attendance. For any visitor to gain access to the building, the buzzer system located at the front door of the school must be used. Office staff will greet visitors through the intercom system and will ask the visitor to provide information regarding his/her visit. At this time, all visitors will be asked to provide a government issued photo I.D. Office staff will determine if entry to the school will be granted.

Once entry to the school has been provided, please note the below expectations of our visitors.

All visitors will be required to submit their I.D. through the Raptor Visitor System. A visitor badge will be provided by the office and must visible at all times.
Before leaving, all visitors will be required to sign out of the office and turn in their visitor sticker to the school secretary.

Student Appointments

You may call ahead to the office to limit wait time if you need to pick your student up for an appointment. Please come into the office to check out your student. Students will not be released from the office after 2:45pm.

Attendance Matters

Turner Elementary starts promptly at 8:05 am. If your child will be tardy to school, parents must park and walk their child into the office to check them in.

The Turner School District grants every student ten excused absences for the school year. These absences must be authorized by a parent/guardian and may be for reasons such as illness, bereavement, appointments, or parental discretion.

Any additional absences must be accompanied by a doctor's note, or will be counted as an UNEXCUSED absence. Unexcused absences become subject to the truancy law outlined below:

Turner Unified School District 202 Board of Education Policy and the Kansas Compulsory Attendance Statute define truancy as a student who accumulates: 3 consecutive unexcused absences; or 5 unexcused absences within a semester; or 7 unexcused absences during a school year. Truant students under the age of 18 MUST be reported to the District Attorney's Office.

Car Rider Tags

Car rider families will receive a number to display on their rearview mirror daily.

Please do not remove your car rider number until your child is safely in your vehicle.
