Greetings!

1. THANK YOU for your great support in helping to ensure that the 2023-2024 school year is off to a wonderful start! It has been great having the children back in the building!

2. Please take the time to read the newsletter, teacher emails and school emails as we do our best to communicate changes, updates, celebrations and events frequently!

3. Our next school event is Thursday, 8/17! Please join us for our Back to School picnic!

4. I really appreciate your support as we move to a "Peanut Safe" building. This includes peanuts and tree nuts. In the interest of student safety, I highly discourage you from bringing any nut products into the building. Please reference snacksafely.com for nut free snack ideas!

5. Have a wonderful weekend with your families! Enjoy the gorgeous weather!

Doors will open at 8:20AM each morning. Students are not supervised until 8:20AM so please do not drop them off early. Students eating breakfast can come in at 8:15AM.

New this year, school will dismiss at 3:30PM every day, with the exception of Wednesday. Wednesday dismissal is at 2:30PM this year.

Here is the school calendar for next school year, 2023-2024. The first day of school will be Thursday, August 10th.

The PTO is a great way to meet other parents, find out about PTO sponsored events and volunteer on several event committees. By joining and/or being a volunteer, you are working with other parents and teachers/staff members, to help enrich the educational experience for all students.

This is a chance for our new families to meet Principal Ballard as well as other new families at Willowdale and for our existing families to get together and kick off the school year. We will be providing pizza and bottled water for our new families free of charge. If you are an existing family, please feel free to bring your own dinner or you can purchase pizza at the event for $2 a slice and $1 for water/drinks (cash only). The Willowdale PTO will also be selling popsicles at the event for .50 each.

Don't forget to bring your own chairs to the event as well! If you are planning on joining us for the event, please RSVP here.

And as a last minute reminder, if you have not yet completed the Willowdale Student directory information, do it today to be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift card to Hyvee! Even if you have filled out this information before, we need your assistance in completing it each year. You can access the form here. You can also still sign up to help with PTO activities here.
