Ranger Report
August 11, 2023
Hello Ranger Families:
Preparations are moving forward at your high school as we welcome teachers back to school for a week of in-service starting 8/22. To prepare, all of us at EHS are working hard to ensure that the first day of school is fun, inviting and exceeds everyone’s expectations. The floors are shined, the building is spruced up and we are eagerly anticipating a building again full of the sights and sounds of learning. To that end, I want to invite all of you to celebrate with us on August 16th during our registration event and free back to school BBQ. These events will help prepare your family for the start of the school year and create an opportunity for community engagement. I hope to see you there!

Students with an IEP or 504 You are Invited to join us for Ranger Smart Start!
New this year! Ranger Smart Start is an opportunity for our students with an IEP or 504 to connect with their teachers before classes begin. Particularly helpful for our incoming Freshmen, the goal of Smart Start is to allow time for our students to introduce themselves and to personally explain to teachers how they learn best. This connection fosters advocacy within our students and sets them up for success! Parents and guardians are also welcome to attend Smart Start with your student.
In preparation for Smart Start please complete this Introduction Profile for students to share with their teachers as they visit each classroom. Students may also create their own profile to share. I hope to see you this year at Smart Start.
When: Wednesday, August 23
Time: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Where: A welcome reception will be set up in the high school commons. Students and families then follow the student’s schedule to visit each classroom.
Attendance Matters
Percent of students with 90% or better attendance last year = 74.1%
Percent of students with 90% or better attendance in September 2022 = 79.8%
Parents and Guardians:
You play a vital role in your child's academic success. The first step to academic achievement is establishing excellent school attendance habits. Student attendance is critical to student achievement at all grade levels.
Partner with us to improve attendance rates for the 2023-2024 school year
Each Ranger Report will feature comparative attendance data that will highlight our progress toward establishing excellent attendance rates at EHS
A Call for Volunteers

Classrooms Are Cell Phone Free Zones
Life is full of distractions that keep us from performing our best.
Our expectation is that classrooms are cell phone free zones.
The classroom is a space for learning and engagement in preparation for a student’s next step in life. Join us in fostering this commitment to learning by:
Talking with your student about their cell phone use in school.
Be prepared to set limits and to collaborate with school staff in making learning a priority.
