By state law, the deadline to submit open enrollment applications is February 1st. This deadline applies to both new open enrollment applications as well as students who wish to continue to open enroll at a different school. By next week, we will also send individual reminders to families who need to reapply to continue their open enrollment status. Applications may be submitted by going to: d93.org/3010F.

The following schools are designated as magnet schools that offer special instruction and programs not available in other schools in the district. Students who wish to attend a magnet school need to submit an open enrollment application to transfer to the school. Students currently enrolled in these schools do not need to submit an open enrollment form to continue their enrollment at the school.

Praxium is excited for its third year as a mastery-based, in-person middle school in District #93. We wanted to reach out to you and let you know about this middle school option for Bonneville School District 7th and 8th graders for the 2023-24 school year. In January, we will have the opportunity to visit current 6th grade classrooms throughout the district and explain this middle school and learning model, but we wanted to reach out to all parents and let you know about this opportunity for your child. Open Enrollment for the district for next year is now open and will end on February 1st.

Praxium Mastery Academy personalizes learning and support for each student, allowing students to learn at their own pace, regardless of the time needed. We use teacher-led workshops, mentoring, small group instruction, and projects to create learning opportunities for students. Praxium teachers organize a wide variety of learning experiences that focus on developing knowledge, skills AND habits of success. We work hard to help every Praxium student be prepared for high school and beyond..

The School Board establishes school attendance zones to ensure efficient and balanced use of District facilities. However, Idaho Code 33-1402 provides students from both inside and outside of the school district with the opportunity to apply to enroll in any school in the district. There are compelling reasons why students may need to open enroll in a different school. Because overcrowding has such an adverse impact in school, our principals carefully consider each new open enrollment application before approving it.

We are offering free Parenting the Love and Logic Way classes for parents of children attending D93 schools. Classes will be for parents of children of all ages.

• Making parenting easier and more fun so that the family enjoys being together.
  
• Setting boundaries in the home so that relationships grow and develop.
• How to help kids be responsible at home and at school.
• Helping parents to respond calmly and rationally with consequences
• Setting limits with children to balance their time with activities such as video games, cell phones, friends, TV, school, chores, dating, toys, etc.
• How to solve defiant behavior.
• Dealing with drugs, alcohol, tobacco, vaping, sex, bullying, and aggression
  

The Low Income Household Water Assistance Program(LIHWAP) helps low-income families in Idaho pay their water and wastewater bills. We can help you restore services if you have been disconnected, prevent getting disconnected if you are having trouble paying your water bills, and reduce rates to make water and wastewater services more affordable. The Idaho Youth Empowerment Services (YES) is a new system of care for Idaho’s children and youth YES provides a new way for families to find the mental health supports they need for their children and youth. It is strengths-based and family-centered, and incorporates a team approach that focuses on providing individualized care for children. Through a coordinated and collaborative effort, multiple child-serving agencies work with the family to build a treatment plan around the unique needs and strengths of each child.

The YES checklist below can be used by anyone to help determine if a child may benefit from a full mental health assessment.

This week's episode of D93 News spotlights a teacher who's passion was reading and helping others to develop a love of reading. Her wish before she passed away was to donate her library of books to the district. Her legacy will continue in D93 one book at a time. And check out this week's Athlete of the Week.
