We all know diet and exercise help play a part in our overall health, but one thing many people don't realize is how those things also help to support our mental health. Mental health challenges are not always solved just by eating right and exercising, so it is important to recognize the signs of deteriorating mental health and know where to go for help. Asking for help for a mental health issue can be hard, but it is the same as if you'd broken a bone or have some type of infection - we all need help one way or another! The CDC has many tips and resources to help you figure out the best way to promote positive mental health.

Ms. Davis' AP Environmental Science students completed a multi-day Stream Lab! They sampled biological, physical, and chemical components of 3 "streams" and investigated the health of those streams. Then, they wrote a report for the county concerning the health of the streams and next steps. We love seeing science in action!

Georgia's Dual Enrollment Program offers students the opportunity to experience college courses and begin their college academic career while still in high school and provides for standard tuition, mandatory fees and required books. The program is offered during all terms of the school year. If your student is interested in pursuing Dual Enrollment, please plan to attend the Dual Enrollment Informational Meeting on Thursday, September 28th at 6:00 PM via Zoom. This is a mandatory meeting for you and your student if they would like to participate during the spring semester. Please contact your student's counselor for additional information!

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) is the gateway to getting federal student loans, scholarships, grants, and work-study for school, but there can be so much confusion around it.

GCPS has transitioned from SchoolMessenger to ParentSquare for two-way communication between schools and families, and we encourage all families to download the app and create an account. With its user-friendly interface, ParentSquare offers seamless two-way communication through text, newsletters, posts, emergency alerts, and direct messaging. One of our favorite features is the integrated translation feature, which enables automatic translations for multilingual families.

If you experience an issue with accessing ParentVUE or StudentVUE mobile applications using Apple iOS, please download the most recent version from the Apple App Store.

The version of these apps will need to be 11.2 or higher.
