Winter Testing Windows for NWEA/BAS
Moraine, along with all Northville elementary schools, frequently monitors data to inform instruction. In addition to the daily formative assessments our teachers use to make in-the-moment decisions, we also administer the NWEA three times a year. It is important that students are in school (and rested!) for these dates. District-wide, we will not be making up NWEA testing that is missed because of vacation unless the data is deemed necessary for MTSS decisions. The window for NWEA testing is January 29th - February 16th, and the BAS testing window is from January 29th - February 23rd.
The Student-Run Credit Union is Thursday (1/18)
Come to the Credit Union and stash that holiday cash!
SMART WATCHES ARE OFF/AWAY DURING SCHOOL
Have you ever tried to have a conversation with your child while they are thinking about their device? It's a real challenge.
A reminder that students are not permitted to have electronic devices during the school day, including smart watches. These pull attention and distraction away from engaged learning.

READ shirts for March is Reading Month
Believe it or not, March is Reading Month is coming up quickly!
This year, Moraine will again be offering families the opportunity to purchase clothing that promotes the love of reading. For the past 2 years, we have been offering a Read shirt, each with a slightly different font, and this is our 1st year with a penguin as part of the word!
If you are interested in ordering a shirt for your penguin reader, please use the link below. There are youth and adult sizes of short and long-sleeve t-shirts, as well as, crewneck sweatshirts and hoodies!
Shirts will be delivered to Moraine and sent home with students in late February.
Orders are due on/by Tuesday, January 30th, 2024.
March is Reading Month-Student Authored Books
March is Reading Month is just around the corner!
Before March begins, we want to again offer the opportunity for students to author their own books so we can have our authors on display throughout March is Reading Month in the Moraine Media Center.
Student Authored Books
Our student authored books program is a wonderful way to inspire children to write and illustrate their own books!
If you would like to request a blank book for your student author, please fill out the request form using the link below.
Student Authored Book Requests 2024
