Free Tuition @GROW? Disruptive!

Hello GROW Community!

In our last newsletter we announced that we will be moving to East Point, Ga. for the 2018-2019 school year and that we are now enrolling students ages 5-14!

In addition to the move, we've had time to reflect on our purpose for doing this work and why we are so passionate about it. We concluded that, because of fear, we weren't operating in alignment with our truest aspirations which are to make Self-Directed Education (SDE) easily accessible to all children. We knew that in order to make that happen we'd have to be bold, ambitious, and willing to do hard things. Ultimately we felt like if not us...then who?

So we decided to craft a business model that will make GROW free for all students! We conducted a think-tank strategic planning meeting last week with some of the brightest minds in SDE and now we are excited to share this vision with our growing community of parents and supporters.

GROW Facilitators and members of the GROW community attended The Liberation & Education Summit hosted by Heartwood ALC in Clarkston Ga. last month. The event was organized to explore the ways in which Self-Directed Education can aid in accelerating Social Justice in America.

There is a less formal follow-up brunch being held March 17th to build on the energy and connections made at the event. For details and resources shared at the last event click here.

This summer Dr. Scott will be a co-facilitator at the ALF summer training at ALC Mosaic in Charlotte NC. This is a great experience for current or aspiring SDE parents, school starters, and facilitators.

"This collaborative training experience is designed for those interested in understanding and practicing Agile Learning Facilitation, starting an Agile Learning Center, and/or developing a relationship with the ALC Network and its southeastern US region."
