Message from Donna Johnson
ECSE continues to be a busy place with lots of learning and growing occuring. We continue to experience increasing numbers but are happy to be serving students in need across our community in partnership with families. ECSE is blessed with a strong team of dedicated teaching staff, OTs, PTs, SLPs, Paraeducators and office staff who are committed to student impact. For that, I am truly thankful.
The weather took a sharp turn on us quickly. Please make sure you are sending your child to school with hats, gloves, boots, and warm coats. Also, please send an extra pair of shoes in your child's backpack. If you need assistance with winter clothing please do not hesitate to call our school Student Wellness Family Facilitator, Katie King, at 701-446-3174.
Thank you for continuing to send your child to school. Regular attendance does make a difference in the progress our students make even at such an early age.
I wish you a great November and hope everyone stays warm and healthy.
Speech Tip of the Month
ECSE Community Friends
Fargo Public Schools' Early Childhood Special Education program is seeking Community Friends to join its preschool classrooms for the afternoon sessions. Community Friends are typically developing peers who will join the ECSE classrooms alongside the students with developmental delays or disabilities. Students must be 4 years old by July 31, 2023 and pass a developmental screening to be eligible for the program. The program is free of charge for families, but parents must provide transportation. The ECSE afternoon sessions are held from 12:10-2:40 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday through May 30. Click here to apply for the ECSE Community Friends program.
Parent Survey
We want to hear from you! Help Fargo Public Schools improve how we are serving our students, staff, and stakeholders. During the month of October, FPS is conducting a culture survey for students, staff, and parents. The survey data will guide District decision making, parent engagement, and overall District and school improvement, and influence Strategic Plan decisions. The survey is anonymous and demographic data is optional.
If you are a parent of a student in FPS, please complete this survey. You may complete the survey for each student you have enrolled in the District.
