INFORMATION ABOUT THE WILDKITTEN WAY NEWSLETTER
Welcome to the Wildkitten Way!
Hello! My name is Ms. Smith, I am the new editor of "The Wildkitten Way", and one of two instructors for Media at Barton. In an effort to revitalize the newsletter, I want to hear from you guys on what information you would like to see posted! Students, I want you to get involved with writing, even if you are not in my media class. I would love to add a creative writing section where I will choose ONE short story and ONE poem per month. Your deadline is also the 23rd of the month. If I receive anything past that, your submission will NOT be considered for that month. I will try my best this year to ensure that we have an exciting, safe and informational year! Thank y'all!
Principal Note: Mrs. Henry
Wow! What an amazing start to the school year we have had at Barton Junior High! Our students have been busy learning all about how to follow The Wildkitten Way, our behavior expectation matrix. The teachers have worked hard teaching the expectations to our students, and all of the hard work is definitely showing!
We appreciate our parents working to sign the beginning of the year forms for your child and getting them returned. We also appreciate how smoothly the drop off and pick up lines are going out front. Just a reminder that students must be dropped off at the FRONT door if dropping off at 7:45 or later. Until 7:45, 7th grade needs to be dropped off near the gym (west of the office) and the 8th grade needs to be dropped off near the cafeteria. Pick up is the same area, with 8th grade being at the front where the covered sitting area is.
We are looking forward to an amazing year at Barton! Please continue to work with your child's teachers so we can all be a team of support to ensure the best school experience for all students!
Thanks for sharing your children with us!

Jay Lowder speaking to our students
Jay Lowder delivered a wonderful message to our students on Tuesday, August 28th about choices. This would not have been possible without the help from some our local churches, youth groups and community members.
