Get your Bear wear!
Bear Wear is back for the 23/24 school year! Orders can be placed directly using the link below. Order cut off for the first orders of the school year is October 5. Orders will be processed and delivered to the school three to four weeks after the orders close (early November). If you have any questions regarding Bear Wear please feel free to contact Mrs. Waselenkoff in the school office.
School Fees
Pay school fees online! School fee information for the 2023-24 school year will be posted on the PowerSchool Parent Portal in late September. All fees are due within 30 days of being posted. To access your fee information, simply log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and go to “Student Fees.” There you can view your fees and pay online using a credit card.
Don’t forget to log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal regularly throughout the year. Fees are often added to your child’s account to cover the cost of certain school activities such as field trips, class projects, athletic-team fees and more. Additionally, junior high and senior high fees can change as courses are added and deleted.
If you’re unable to pay your school fees, you can apply to have certain fees waived by submitting an Application for a Waiver of Fees. The application deadline is Dec. 15, 2023.
For more information about school fees, waivers and payment deadlines visit eips.ca. Alternatively, contact Lisa Waselenkoff in the office.

First Nations Fridays'
Our First Nations, Métis and Inuit people have Seven Sacred Teachings. Today’s teaching is about the Beaver – as we reconnect with our PNE community we depend on the gifts given to each of us and how we use these gifts. The Beaver's example of using his sharp teeth for cutting trees and branches to build his dams and lodges expresses this teaching. If he did not use his teeth, the teeth would continue to grow until they became useless. Ultimately, he would not be able to eat or build his home. The same can be said for human beings. If we don’t use our gifts we will grow weak. However, when we use our gifts we contribute to a peaceful and healthy school community (Solomon, 2011).

Fit Kids!
Pine Street School is excited to offer Fit Kids to our students. This is an in-school program designed to give our students experiences with non-typical sports from certified trained specialists in their field, such as yoga, pickleball, jiu-jitsu, HIGH fitness, Indigenous games, and others.
Every Thursday morning, students from grades 1 to 6 will have an opportunity to participate in these exciting and different activities and gain a feel for a wide range of different physical activities that they typically would not of had an opportunity to participate in. We are very excited to be bringing this neat and unique opportunity to our students to help broaden their experiences with different physical and fitness activities.
