HB 1416 Parent Request for Teacher Process
According to HB 1416, school districts are required to give parents of students in grades 4 - 12 who did not meet passing standard on STAAR or an EOC exam in Spring 2023 the opportunity to request a teacher. This year, the process is a bit tricky, because our final results for STAAR 3 - 8 are not reported in the STAAR Parent Portal until August 16th, which is our first day of school.
In order to comply with the legislation, if you feel your child MAY not have met passing standard on STAAR 3 - 8 or they did not meet passing standard on an End of Course Exam at the high school level, you may fill out this parent request survey at the link below:

When you log into the Family Access Portal, look at the top right corner and click on "District Links" to find the assessment results. (reference picture above)
Please do not call your child's campus to make a request. Additionally, according to Texas House Bill 1416, districts are only required to consider parent requests. So, the requests are not guaranteed to be granted. This survey will close on Tuesday, Aug. 1st at midnight.
