Happy Women's History Month!
(https://www.history.com/topics/holidays/womens-history-month. March 2021)
Women’s History Month has been celebrated annually in the month of March since 1987, and is dedicated to reflect on the often overlooked accomplishments of women in the United States. There are countless trailblazers that have been monumental to many movements, progress towards social issues, and fights for equity and true justice for all. We are elated to celebrate Women's History Month, and we encourage you to deepen your own understanding of the many ways women have advanced our country and the world.

Breakthrough In-Person Programming
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our community had to engage virtually for Saturday Schools from November 2020 to February 2021. Fortunately, we were able to gather for an in-person Saturday School on March 6th. Taking into account CDC safety precautions and Kent Denver School guidelines, the structure of Saturday School was altered to safely convene and deliver much needed in-person programming to our students.
We hosted our 7th and 8th grade students in the morning from 8:00 am - 11:45 am, and our 9th and 10th grade students in the afternoon from 12:45 pm - 4:15 pm. We followed all current COVID-19 protocols and procedures being implemented at Kent Denver School, including mandatory masking, social distancing, required sanitation of supplies and work spaces, and structured lunch and snack protocols.
We are thrilled that we are less than 4 months away from our 2021 Summer programming! With COVID-19 cases continuing to decline, we are preparing to deliver an in-person Summer Program for our students. There are aspects of our "normal" summer that will have to shift to ensure we are staying safe and protecting our community. However, the full time time team is diligently planning quality and effective programming that amplifies our Breakthrough culture and brings us closer together as a community.
If you have any questions or would like to know about any summer opportunities, please contact our Communications and Program Coordinator, Jhasmyne Cooper-Moore, Jcooper@breakthrough.kentdenver.org.
