Opening Mass
Our theme for the year is “Growing In Love, With the Father.” The scriptural connection of this year’s faith theme from Luke 15, the story of the Prodigal Son, was read at our opening mass. This story shows the unconditional love that a father has for his child just as God has unconditional love for each of us - we are His children.
We celebrated our Grade Four students who received their Bibles and enjoyed listening to the beautiful singing voices of all of our staff and students - it was a joyful celebration to commemorate a new year!
“For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.”
Luke 15:24

Heartstrings - Children’s Grief Group
Five Sessions for Children 6-11yrs
Saturdays 10:00-11:30am
Starting October 21 (no session Nov. 11)
Grief impacts everyone differently and children, who may be experiencing grief for the very first time, might have difficulty understanding and expressing the full impact of their loss. Parents and caregivers may struggle to know how to support the children in their lives as they move through their own process of grief.
Heartstrings is an interactive and supportive group for grieving children ages 6 to 11 who have experienced the loss of an immediate family member or close friend. Within this small group format, grief-related art projects, play activities, and other therapeutic tools will help children make their way through their grieving process while remembering and honouring their loved one. Children will learn invaluable life skills for dealing with emotions and find healing in a safe and supportive environment.
Facilitators: Amy Wolgemuth, Registered Psychologist and Cathy Danilec, Canadian Certified Counsellor
