A Note from Mrs. Smith...
Thank you to all our volunteers who make our school the best school ever! We could not continue our mission and vision without your support.
Our arrival car rider line can get lengthy from 7:45 - 8:00. In an effort to alleviate this issue, please try to be in line closer to 7:30 a.m. When you leave the school, please turn RIGHT. Turning left can cause a traffic jam. I know this can be an inconvenience, but it helps with the flow of traffic of those trying to get into the school car line.
Thank you for helping our arrival run smoothly.
Growing Better Together,
Kris Smith, Principal

Severe Weather Dismissal
Parents, we want to thank you for being so patient and understanding when it comes to severe weather dismissal being called when bad weather is in the area. Monday, the 8th we called severe weather dismissal due to lightening in the area, high wind and a tornado warning. We had a tree snap and unfortunately at that moment a teacher was leaving and had her back window of her car smashed from the falling debris. Thankfully nobody was hurt.
Our top priority at Glen Loch is the safety of our students, parents and staff and we thank you for making it your priority as well.
January is School Board Appreciation Month! Thank you Conroe ISD School Board!
Arrival and Dismissal Reminders
Arrival Reminders
Just a reminder that our building opens at 7:30 a.m. every morning. We have a quick moving line from about 7:35 to 7:50 a.m.. The line (and traffic) starts getting congested after that time. Students need to be in the building by the time the tardy bell rings at 8:00 a.m..
Starting Monday, January 8th, we will start enforcing tardies after 8:00 a.m. and parents will need to park and come in with their child to sign them in tardy.
Dismissal Reminders
School releases at 3:10 p.m..
- Our solo walkers will be released out the appropriate exit at this time to go home.
- Our K-1 Walkers will start being released at this time as well
- Car rider line will also start moving at this time. Please be sure to be in line to help insure a prompt pick up of your student(s).
- Car rider line ends when the last car come through, not at a certain time.
- Administration will begin calling the parents who are late picking up their student(s) to see what we can do to help.
Save the Date!
January Reminders: Flu Season
It's January and after a busy holiday season we are all ready to stay healthy and ready to learn! Unfortunately, it's also flu season! It is important to be vigilant about keeping our kids healthy during this time! Remind your child about the importance of handwashing before eating anything, after using the bathroom, and after sneezing/coughing. Handwashing is the number one defense against infection. The CDC expects an increase in seasonal flu between January and March every year. Check with your family doctor regarding information about flu vaccines.
Remember, to keep all our kids as healthy as possible, children must be fever free for 24 hours off of fever-reducing medication prior to returning to school.
Signs and Symptoms of Flu
People who have the flu often feel some or all of these signs and symptoms that usually start suddenly, not gradually:
Fever* or feeling feverish/chills
Cough
Sore throat
Runny or stuffy nose
Muscle or body aches
Headaches
Fatigue (very tired)
Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in young children than in adults.
*It’s important to note that not everyone with the flu will have a fever. (www.cdc.gov/flu)
🖥️ Screen Time Tip: Help your teenager develop critical thinking skills to evaluate the credibility of online content.
Progress Reports, Reports Cards and Parent Access
Electronic progress reports and report cards for the remainder of the year will be available on Parent Access. If you have not signed up for a Parent Access account, please follow the steps below. If you need to add a student to your current account, there are directions for that as well!
Paper report cards will not be sent home.
How to sign up for Parent Access, 1st Student:
Go to ConroeISD.net/Parents/Students/Parent Access Center
Choose Register
Complete all fields, which includes your child’s student ID. This number was sent to you by email when you registered for school or it is on their last report card from last year. If you are unable to locate it, please contact us at ContactPowell@ConroeISD.net and we can help you.
Once you have completed the application, it will let you know that it was successful and you will receive an email in 24 hours to set up your password. If any information is incorrect, it will let you know which field to correct.
How to sign up for Parent Access, if you already have an account set up for an older child:
Go to ConroeISD.net/Parents/Students/Parent Access Center
Log in by entering your UserID (email) and Password but DO NOT HIT ENTER. Instead, scroll further down on that webpage and click on the “Register” link. It will then prompt you to add another student. Once that is complete, then every time you log in to Parent Access, it will first ask which student account you wish to view.
If you have a student in KG or 1st Grade and wish to review their Report Card:
Log into your Parent Access Account
Under Student Information, scroll down to Standard Based Report Card (PreK-2) to view
If you have a student in 2nd-4th Grade and wish to review their Report Card:
Log into your Parent Access Account
Under Student Information, scroll down to Report Card to view
In June, you will receive a printed Report Card by mail that covers the entire year.
