From the Principal
Dear Families,
I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend!
With the increased amount of respiratory illnesses, here are a few important reminders for students:
- First and foremost, stay home when you are sick;
- Wash your hands well and often;
- Cover your coughs and sneezes with your elbow or tissue; and
- Consider wearing a mask.
Parents and guardians, if your student is absent due to being sick, please remember to call our attendance office at 541-744-4700 or email al.webb@springfield.k12.or.us within 48 hours to ensure the absence is excused. We encourage non-English speaking parents and guardians to leave a message in their preferred language. Click the link below for information on when to stay home.
Lastly, in case your student needs medical attention between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, they can go to the Springfield Student Health Center located on our campus. Click the link below for additional information.
Be well,
Principal da Silva

Holiday Food Box Fundraiser 2022
This year, the Springfield High School Student and Family Resource Center is partnering with the Sources of Strength (SOS) and ASB Leadership students to provide holiday food boxes for families who need extra support over the winter break. The struggle to put food on the table is real for our families, and providing a supply of non-perishable foods can be an important support at this time of year.
In order to help fill this need, we will be having a food drive at the school between November 28-December 9! Students can bring in non-perishable food items to donate between these dates, and collection boxes will be available in each students’ 4th period advisory classroom. If you are able to donate food to the drive, we ask that all items are non-perishable and in non-breakable containers. Please see our list of suggested food items here: (https://www.springfield.k12.or.us/domain/1847 )
If your family would like to receive a holiday food box, please watch for the signup in next week’s newsletter!
Thank you for supporting our holiday food drive!!!
