The Fun Run program is a 2 week fundraising campaign that promotes fitness, teamwork, and character building while helping our school raise some much-needed funds! This will be a fun experience for ALL students, regardless of financial participation.
Our goal is to raise $15,000 for school and classroom improvements.
In a few weeks, we will be asking you to register your student(s) on MyBooster.com. Getting registered is FREE & EASY and every student that registers will earn a free prize. Once registered, you can share your students' donation page with friends and family to get donations toward every minute they complete at the GES Fun Run .

Register on MYBOOSTER.COM
● Kick Off Day - 10/30

School Breakfast Program Information
Parent Pick Up Reminders
As a reminder, if your child typically rides the bus and you are picking them up at dismissal, please send a note including the name of the adult who will pick them up. This is an important piece of information so that the adults supervising parent pick up know what trusted adult is picking up your child. Please make sure the adult has their drivers license with them. This is a reminder for parents/guardians who do not pick up regularly. Those of you who pick up daily, please continue using the sign provided.
Thank you for your help with keeping students safe and the parent pick up line moving quickly.
FID (Flexible Instruction Days)
BASD has the ability to utilize one snow day and 5 flexible instruction days throughout the school year in the event that inclement weather or other emergency school closing. Your child’s teacher will review these directions with your child early next week. In the event of an unexpected school closing, the district message will define what type of day is being used. Digital and paper/pencil options will be provided. If a student cannot access the Internet or paper copies of the learning activities, he/she will have three (3) school days to complete the assignments. Any student who fails to complete their FID assignment within three school days will be marked as absent.
Roof Work at GES Starts Tuesday, September 5
There will be contactors working on the roof starting September 5th. If you are using parent pick up or drop off, please be extra careful when exiting the playground area. This contractor's equipment and materials will be stored in the parking area by the playground. Thank you for your cooperation.

News from the Health Room
October News from the Nurse
We are happy to welcome fall & the return of field trips to BASD elementary schools! This year, we will be spacing our field trips throughout the school year, some beginning this month! If your child has a medical need, please keep the following points in mind:
- Definition of a Student with Medical Needs: A student with a medically diagnosed condition and medication in the health room.
- The parent/guardian has the right to attend the field trip with their child, or they can designate to have someone go in their place. Parents may not designate a teacher or principal to go with their child.
- If a parent cannot attend and does not have anyone to go in their place, we can do one of two things: (1) with parent permission and doctor’s note we can skip or delay the medication (emergency medication cannot fall under this category); or, (2) we will send a nurse on the trip.
- That nurse is there for that child with medical needs only who would not otherwise be able to attend.
- Are Clearances Needed or Not: If a parent/guardian is attending the field trip to support their child with a medical need, they do not need clearances. They are there with their child only and should be in the same group as the teacher.
- The parent/guardian without clearances may not be a chaperone or be without a teacher at any time with any child that is not their own.
- That parent/guardian will have to provide their driver’s license to the office either prior to or the morning of the trip so that it can be raptured.
- Other Important Reminders: Chaperones are not able to administer medicine to anyone that is not their child. The nurse on the field trip is only for those children that would not have access to their education if they didn’t have their medication available.
Our ultimate goal is to provide a safe and fun field trip experience for all students! We thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
Sick Kids and When to Stay Home: With the return of cooler temperatures and cold and flu season, please keep the following points in mind when deciding to send your child to school:
BASD Food Service Information
Your child(ren) will be able to get breakfast and lunch at school. Lunch prices are included in the memo from food service listed below.
School breakfast will once again be offered for free for all Pennsylvania schools.
Attendance Procedures
Reporting an absence: If your child is not feeling well and cannot attend school, please email attendance at AttendanceGES@boyertownasd.org, or use the link below to inform the school that your child will not be present due to an illness, or appointment. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScvtpG7SKITdNqliElSWvB9u4el72hJiIntaN9LFeyTuq8TnQ/viewform
Educational Trip: Parents/Guardians must complete an Educational Trip Form 2 days prior to your child's absence. **Please note that failure to submit a trip form prior to departure will result in trip days being counted as an unlawful absence.
Parent Pick Up and Drop Off Procedures
If you are planning to transport your child to school, please complete the google form indicating the adults that you give permission to pick up your child after school. As we work through the first few weeks of school we ask for your patience as we all get used to our transportation procedures. Thank you in advance for that.
