Things To Know
NO LEFT TURNS!
A reminder, again, that there are no left turns into the arrival/dismissal line. This is a violation of the double yellow line, and causes a back up of cars that prevents buses from getting to our bus loop, thus disrupting the traffic flow established by the town and our police partners.
REMINDER: LILJA FALL FESTIVAL TUESDAY, OCTOBER 31st
Lilja students will enjoy a fall festival in school on Tuesday, October 31st. Students MAY choose to wear a costume at a designated time of the day on October 31st. Teachers will communicate expectations for arrival (regular clothes or costume). Please see these guidelines. All costumes MUST adhere to these expectations, or the student will not be permitted to wear it.
EARLY RELEASE: WEDNESDAY 11/1
Students will be dismissed at 12:15pm
NO SCHOOL: 11/10
In observance of Veterans Day, Lilja will be closed all day on Friday, November 10th.Veterans Day is a federal holiday in the United States observed annually on November 11, for honoring military veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
ATTENDANCE LETTERS
In accordance with our handbook (page 14), attendance letters are sent out at certain thresholds to alert families to inconsistent and/or problematic attendance. While we recognize that some absences are beyond control, we follow these policies to open a dialogue, and to ensure that we all hold the same priorities and understandings as to the effects of consistency and exposure to instruction on a student's success.
PLAYGROUND UPDATE
The playground, basketball court, and upper field will be open to families for a half hour following dismissal (2:56pm - 3:25pm). The lower field and swings will be reserved for ASAP during this time. At 3:25pm, the campus will close to the public until 6:00pm.
The Lilja PTO is a group of volunteer parents. Our goals are to enrich the education of our children, support the teachers and staff, and serve the Lilja community as a whole. We fundraise to supply materials, fund programs, organize social functions, and coordinate parent volunteers, all of which enhance the experience of Lilja students and build a sense of community within the school.
We need your help! Please reach out to the PTO at pto@liljapto.org to volunteer! We are looking for people willing to head some of our events throughout the year (Trunk or Treat, the Lilja Carnival, etc). These events are much beloved, and have a foundation already in place. All we need is YOU to make it happen! We look forward to hearing from you soon!
