FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear FJVD Families,
Enjoy your Weekly Info a day early this week! With the Back to School BBQ tomorrow evening and Back to School Night right around the corner, I thought it best to send out the newsletter a day in advance.
A few important notes for Back to School Night on Monday:
- In order to make the evening more accessible and convenient for parents & families, we will be offering free child care from 6:00pm-8:00pm under the supervision of Mrs. Moone. If you plan on utilizing these childcare services, please let us know by filling out the survey here. Responding to the survey helps us plan appropriately.
- Mrs. Jarvis will be available starting at 6pm if you need to complete any BCI or Safe Environment Training paperwork. These are required if you would like to volunteer for the school in any capacity where you are directly supervising children. Not sure if you need to complete these forms? Mrs. Jarvis will be able to answer any questions you may have.
- You are encouraged to visit your child(ren)'s classrooms & teachers during the visiting period. Middle school teachers will be available on a rotating basis to ensure that you can visit with as many teachers as desired.
Please note that a detailed schedule of events for Back to School Night is included below.
One last reminder - our middle school cross country season kicks off this evening, August 22nd, 5:30-6:30pm at the school. Cross country is open to all boys and girls in grades 6-8. No previous running experience required! See below for more details.
I look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow evening at our Back to School Barbecue!
Go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin

FJVD Certificate Program Runs Through the Summer!
This program is a great way to reduce the cost of your tuition while supporting FJVDl!
The Process:
- The school purchases shopping cards from all of your favorite stores
- You purchase the cards from the school, paying face value and spending the same dollars you would have paid to the stores directly
- The school earns a percentage discount offered by participating stores.
For each $50.00 you spend, you get a stamp on your Tuition Discount Card. Fill the entire card and redeem it for a $75.00 tuition credit!
Cards currently available include:
Stop & Shop, Applebee's, Barnes & Noble, Dave's, Dunkin Donuts Panera, Wal-Mart and more!
Stop by the school Wednesdays from 10am-12pm or in the vestibule after the 7:30, 9:30 and 11:30am Sunday Masses to purchase your gift cards!
Shop with Amazon Smile!
For more information, see the PDF attached below. Happy shopping!
Purple Bins help our school!
Gordon Orthodontics and R.I. Dentistry Reading Contest
Using the reading log attached below, keep track of how many books/pages you read over the summer. Then, turn in your reading logs at school (no later than September 5th). Your log must be signed by a parent.
You could help our school win $1,000!
Thank you for your support!
Keep saving those Box Tops!
Don't forget to save your Box Tops over the summer for next year!
See the letter below for information on uploading Box Tops to the new Box Top App!
Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs over the summer and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room when you return in August!
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up Father John V. Doyle School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
